I’m in the process of looking for a veil and I found a site that sells inexpensive veils but they are made of polyester. I always thought veils were made of tulle.
Has anyone ever seen or bought a polyester veil?

Polyester is a material, just like cotton, linen, etc. Tulle is a type of fabric. It can be made out of a variety of materials: silk, nylon, rayon, or polyester.
My best guess, without seeing the website, is that these veils are made out of polyester tulle.

Yes a lot of tulle is polyester. Even many/most wedding dresses are made of polyester (hence why I think prices are ridiculous). I actually think polyester makes the best veils as it’s very sheer and light. Something like silk is gorgeous but is a heavier more opaque veil.

As prior posters said, many veils are made from polyester tulle. I originally wanted a silk veil to go with my silk taffeta gown and was disappointed when I found out that the $500 Malis Henderson Swarovski-crystal-accented, cathedral-length veil that I had fallen in love with wasn’t silk but polyester. The bridal boutique informed me that silk veils tear very easily, so that’s why they don’t like to carry them.
