Thank you very much! It’s actually tanzanite, but it’s a pretty purpley one.

I thought I posted here the other day but apparently not!
I do have a gap but my band is so thin you can barely see it… Sometimes I push them apart just so that I can admire it more…

Is your ring an heirloom ring? My mom had a VERY similar setting in yellow gold, it was her great grandma’s ring!! It’s beautiful!

Thanks ladies! It’s unfortunately not an heirloom, but the setting is antique, apparently from 1910. It’s actually rose gold, I’m just realizing now how yellow it looks in the pic I posted! Our town has basically ZERO antique rings for sale. One day, after we had been looking for while, I came across the setting on eBay. It was in rough shape and had the teensiest chipped diamond in it. We got it for a steal, so it was worth it to replace the stone and repair it. Plus it was the first ring I had really loved and it was in my size! My now husband didn’t want to buy a non-GIA certified diamond. We couldn’t find an OEC or OMC that was both certified and would fit the setting, which is called belcher btw! We compromised and bought a j coloured round brilliant So I would get the warmth I was after My husband the stat guy went for IF,XXX. I think that’s a bit overkill in a stone this size, but I won’t lie and say that I’ve noticed its a bit more sparkly than some of my friends. I think if I did it again I would go for a k colour diamond. I hadn’t seen one in person and we let the jeweller talk us out of it. I find that the j is fairly white, but oh well! I completely adore my ring. Thanks for letting me go on! I never talk about this stuff in person!
