Hi ladies, I need some advice. I have pretty large fingers in the size 9 range and I am looking for a wedding band. Everything I like is in the 2mm width and I cant try it on because my fingers are too big for what they have on hand . Do you ladies think that the size of the plain band is too thin for the size of my finger? if you have that would you mind posting a picture 🙂 thank you all so much in advance!

I have large fingers and I prefer the look of a thin band. I find thicker bands tend to look kind of manly since my ring size is so large.
I haven’t purchased my wedding band yet but the one I’m considering is about 2mm

I have small fingers 4.5 size but my engagement ring and wedding band are 1.5mm and 1.7mm

This site is really helpful for comparing both diamond size and band width. Just adjust the settings to what your ring size is and different widths of bands to see how it would look on you! I just picked the basic 1 carat round vs 1 carat princess, but you can obviously adjust those, too!

I am the same size, I like my thin band. Here’s a pic:

My fingers are around size 7-8 (idk, I’ve gained and lost weight but haven’t gotten my ring sized and it’s a 7.75), and thinner bands looked WAY better than thicker ones. My e-ring band is less than 2mm (1.8 i think), and the wedding back I’m planning on purchasing is about the same so the two together aren’t so thick.

It comes down to personal preference, really. As for trying things on right now, feel free to check the men’s w-band side of the case. Stores often mix up their inventory (I love finding clearance finds in the men’s side! I even wonder if sales staff do that to hold on a deal before they can purchase it?) or place all unisex bands in the men’s section.

I’m a size 8 and my ering band is 1.9mm and I think it looks great! I find that thicker/chunkier sets look amazing on other people, but it didn’t flatter my hand at all. I just ordered a custom wedding band that is 2.3mm because I wanted a mis-matches look an I’m hoping I don’t regret the width(even though 2.3mm is still relatively thin).

This is a size 9 yellow gold band I have that fits my index finger quite perfectly. The band is approximately 2mm wide, could be just a bit thinner. As a pp mentioned, I think it comes to your personal esthetiques. I wouldn’t go thinner than 2mm to be sure it is sturdy enough to last years of use. Also I feel the look of 2mm is plenty dainty, and this is coming from someone who definitely loves the dainty look.
For my own ring (at size 7.25) I chose 2.2mm wide (and almost as tall) band. Though it is platinum which should not thin with wear, I wanted it to feel sturdy enough so that I wouldn’t feel scared about wrecking it.

This is a 2.5mm plain band, and my finger size was 8-8.5 in this picture.
I agree with PPs that it’s all a matter of personal preference. I tend to like wider bands/rings in general, but I went with a smaller width for this band because my anniversary ring is fairly wide.
Oh! Also, I have a 3mm band (in case it might help you for comparing the different widths). I think my ring size in this picture was around 7.5 – 8. (I’ve been losing some weight — yay! So my ring size has fluctuated — boo! lol)
