I’ve searched the boards but have yet to find something that pertains to exactly what I want to know.
Does anyone have a 1.5mm pave band with a 0.5-0.7 carat round diamond (no halo) on it? If so, what are your experiences with the pave band? I’m considering that setting because we found a setting that is decently priced and will keep my ring under $2,500 on Adiamor. I don’t want to buy it if that seems like a bad idea though (obviously haha). I’d also like to mention that we’ll be having it set in platinum if that makes a difference in terms of securing the tiny diamonds in the band. Thanks for any input/advice/help!

I recently upgraded but had a 1.5 mm width platinum pave band with round 0.61 carat center stone. Only had it a short time before the upgrade, but no issues

I’ve read that well made pave stones don’t fall out – but if you get a cheap / poorly made one you can have a lot of problems. I remember reading a Diamond Nexus review of a ring that has 199 pave diamonds – and all the complaints were that the stones fell out all the time.
Also – you shouldn’t change the size of a pave ring – because changing the shape of the ring can make the stones pop out easier. So be sure to buy a ring that’s just the right size for you.
I don’t think the metal is going to make a huge difference – I think gold is just as good as plat – you just need to make sure it’s a quality jeweler who makes it.
I have a larger eternity ring and a larger solitaire – which is why I didn’t reply. I’ve had no problems – but mine is a 2.5mm width.
