Hubby and I have been talking about getting off the pill and TTC starting in March. So I have been taking it upon myself to especially enjoy some wine, soft cheese and sashimi this month. What did you indulge in before TTC or what did you miss while you were TTC/pregnant?

Hot tubs and saunas! I miss being able to relax like that

rainbowduckie : I enjoyed all those things even while ttc, no reason to abstain until you actually get pregnant. Although before our IVF cycle we went to Europe and I made it my mission to consume as much raw meat, soft cheese, wine, and espresso as humanely possible hoping that it would be my last hurrah for awhile (and it was).

Doing whatever you want, whenever you want.

Roller coasters, turkey sandwiches, margaritas.
Also, I really missed riding a bicycle while pregnant/breastfeeding. I suppose some women can ride a bike while pregnant but it would not have worked for me, and there isn’t really a safe way to transport a kid under 1 year old with one. When we finally got a trailer for my daughter when she was like 18 months it was the best day ever. I got one summer with it, and now we want to try to have another kid. I’m kind of sad thinking about it. I really like going for bike rides with my husband.

I’d recommend traveling and having a spontaneous date night or two. If you’re the type of couple who enjoys this have sex at different hours of the night and day in different rooms. Sleep in and enjoy movies out.
i love sushi and I craved it intensely my whole pregnancy. In the 15 months since I gave birth I’ve had it more often then I have any 4 or more years in my life combined.

Drinks and hot baths. Never have I wanted to drink more than during the 9 months I’ve been pregnant!

Snow ski and trekking holidays!
Dont go on a sun and lounging type holiday till after bubs is born. Those sorts of trips are easy with a bub

All the exercises, without having to worry about blaming myself if I miscarry, telling or not telling the gym and yoga instructors in case they banish me from my favourite classes, and of course actually having energy to do all these exercises!
I’ll miss the food once pregnancy actually happens. I had to resist having soft cheese and raw fish the week I was late just in case, and it was already unbearable!

rainbowduckie : wine and hot bubble baths! Especially when the two are combined 😉 but I continued drinking wine while ttc until about 9 DPO of every month until I could confirm whether I was pregnant or not. I miscarried twice and it took us 7 months in total from starting TTC to getting pregnant with our rainbow so that would’ve been a long time of saying no to things.

Drinks’, caffeine and cuddling with your SO without a time limit aka screaming baby lol. Damn I miss those unlimited cuddle nights.

rainbowduckie : ugh my Fiance and I have been trying to plan all of our adventure holidays before TTC in the fall (hopefully) but they have started to spill into December loll. Hopefully you can still ski while (only a little bit) pregnant? If not then oh well.

Also don’t deny yourself anything while TTC. You don’t need to live like you’re pregnant until you are. TTC can be a super long journey and you need to enjoy life in the mean timerainbowduckie :

We’re about 21 months out from TTC but in the meantime we’re getting our travel bugs out now, since I don’t fancy hauling a toddler across Europe :). Just booked a honeymoon to Italy and I’m so excited I want to go now!
