I would like to add (real things people have said to me this week):

“I’m not planning to wear a bra with my [strapless] bridesmaid dress. It looks fine, I swear!” – my DD+ cousin and bridesmaid

“Can you send me that list of hotels again? We haven’t booked yet.” – friend who I really really hope found a hotel room

Something along the lines of “Oh so that’s too bad that the government shutdown and you’re (temporarily) out of a job, but at least it’s good timing with the wedding – more time to plan!”

Sure on the surface that seems good, but really, I would have appreciated the day(s) off about a month ago when we were still dealing with a lot of big-ticket items on our to-do list…now, 11 days before the wedding, nothing that big really remains (we’re leaving in 6 days for our destination wedding and I’m pretty type A so we got stuff done early…). Plus, this timing of not getting paid is NOT great as we’re about to have to shell out a lot of cash!

“Is it too late to change our RSVP to yes?  Not the whole family, just me and my 3-year-old.”

via Facebook message.  TWO DAYS before the wedding.

@megz06:  LMAO! “No. I’m pissed off I’m marrying the man I love.” Love this response… totally using it!

@Bainise2013:  Oh. My. Good God. If one more person says, “How much more do you have left to do?” I’m going to choke them. Literally, choke them. What do I have left to do? Just, uh, EVERYTHING it still feels like. So, you know, maybe don’t remind me every moment of the day, please.

@Bainise2013:  “Your venue is inaccessible due to gov’t. shut down, sorry.” Not me, just something I realized when they said all national parks/museums/memorials, etc that are available as a venue for events are also shut down. How awful would that be?!

From the OP: “Have you got everything done now? I bet you do!”

“Are you sure you want to have the wedding in October in Portland? You know how much it rains here!”

I get these every day that I work:

Are you excited?

Is everything done?

Can I see the dress? (?!)

Only (X) more days!! (not really a question but IALREADYKNOWANDTOANSWERYOURSECONDQUESTIONNOEVERYTHINGISNOTDONE)

Where will I be sitting?

Everything is just falling into place now right?

Are you stressed?

That last one might be because my eye twitches a little whenever the wedding is brought up. I am constantly getting comments about how NOT a Bridezilla I am. My Maid/Matron of Honor is definitely much more of Let’s Get This Shit Going chick than me. God love her.

Put me down for hating the “Are you excited yet?” question. I’ve been excited since we got engaged and set a date, sheesh.

I’m not getting married until next month (!!) but I’m also getting the “Have you got everything planned now?” question, and my Fiance always answers yes for me. I’m like, “how the hell would you know, you’re just putting on the suit and showing up!”

I sense a meltdown approaching.

I’m tired of “Do you have everything done yet? It’s right around the corner!” Actually no I don’t, but thanks for reminding me that I don’t have much time to complete whatever’s left.

Got this today from one of my coworkers:

“Have you not been sleeping much?  You look like you haven’t been sleeping much!”

Great, good to know I look haggard when I’m getting married in 3 days!
