@aandmklover: We put an offer on our 1st choice house, haggled a bit, and got it. We close in 8 days. I can see where that would be hurtful…but you just have to keep looking. Stressful but as long as you get a house, that’s the thing to worry about. We have a nice house, but our “dream house” we wanted to put an offer on had way too much wrong with it. We would have had to re-do the floors (the owner had started to but left it very unfinished) and there was a part of the ceiling in the master bedroom we were worried about. (Yes, we put an offer on our first-choice, but we looked at that house and about 10 others for three months before we put an offer in, taking it slow is key).

If something can go wrong, it will. But in the end everything will work out…honestly, I bet you will find something you like much better and you may be happier that you didn’t get that first house!
