I went to the ATM and got cash, it made a dial up noise.

my friend then asked where the nearest ATM was and I said “oh at the shop there, their cash machine makes a dial up noise”

she said “oh man I’ve not heard dial up In years”

then 4 folk asked what dial up was 🙁

snowflake8 :  don’t feel bad about the 80s music. it was played on a local oldies

station where I lived in 1990. From what I heard they brought back the 80s music as classic rock early because money wasn’t being made off the 70s era- so they jumped ahead to the 80s.

what makes me feel old is still discussing ‘who was wrong in the ross and rachael break up’ and realizing that the show friends is considered a ‘old show’ by the 20 somethings.

When someone says ‘it happened ten years ago” and I think it was the 90’s. I am old enough that the first tv that I watched was black and white with rabbit ears.  We had a corded wall phone with a rotary dial.  My first car was a stick shift and my first cell phone had an antenna.

My 15 year old son saying ‘way back when you were a teenager … when dinosaurs roamed the land..”

when my son makes fun of my wrinkles or bony hands, and I think ‘I used to tease my mom for the same things’

my baby boy is getting his learners license this summer!

Hearing music from my teens as “oldies”

when we went to the museum to see old technology and a computer I used in high school was there.

I remember VHS, cassette, and 8 track tapes.

What makes me feel old? Fiance and I went down to see his sister for Sibs weekend. She goes to my Alma Mater. She told us that she was going to take us to a house party Saturday night. That house party was a frat party…a highlighter party. lol

I was talking with some of the other sibs there. They were saying how old they felt. They graduated last year. I’m almost 29. (Insert old lady emjoi here)

I helped a new coworker set up their voicemail and they didn’t know what I meant when I said to press the “pound key”.

Also seeing my little cousins start university this year has made me feel really old.

My 8 year old nephew didn’t know what Sesame Street was!?

My GREAT nephew will be 5 in April!

I am turning 30 this year! yell

My future niece colored a picture of an “old fashioned” phone and when she was told it was a phone she was so confused because it didn’t look like an iPhone!

Haha, my teenage students telling me they were born in the early 2000’s. (somehow teaching makes me feel both perpetually young and like an old fart)

A kid I babysat now makes more money than I do. Shit dude.

Also, no one tried to stop my fiance and I from getting married. Like everyone was totally on board and cool with our adult decision making process.

My knees.  But they’ve been making me feel old since I was 24.

The fact that there’s a girl who works for me right now whose mother’s wedding I attended.

Realizing many people I graduated high school with are grandparents now.  Okay, granted, I’m a hillbilly and several people I graduated high school with were already parents.  Still.

Having students at my institution – and 4 year liberal arts university – mention that they weren’t born yet when The Lion King came out.

But mostly my knees!
