The morning after we got engaged (I totally resisted talking about the wedding on the day-of proposal– go me!) I brought it up just like… soooooo what were your thoughts about our wedding? And he just said: We can have a short engagement or a long engagement and a small wedding or a bigger wedding… anything you want. Just let me know where to deposit my money.

heh I thought it was really sweet. Basically the whole first month we were married his standard response was: anything you want!

Now… I have pulled out of him some of his preferences and he is totally willing to be involved and help out. But I think its sweet that he just wants me to have anything I want.

It’s always the little moment that really arent that special that get me.  yesterday i was making my SO a peanut butter sandwich since he loves those. he comes into the kitchen behind me and just starts hugging me tight and kissing me me for no reason. it was such a “couple-y” moment and i felt really loved. my SO is also famous for writing my love letters, on our one-year anniversary he wrote “you mean so much to me and i know you can do anything you want in life because youll have me behind you for support, we will be together forever. everytime i look at you im amazed how beautiful you are and that youre actually my girlfriend, youre also my bestfriend.” aww!

During the planning my husband really let me take the reigns on everything, which is the way I wanted it! But when I was working on our DIY invitations, he came in and just started helping me assemble. I didn’t ask him to help he just walked up and said “I want to help you, what can I do?” I just loved that so much (even though a few were crooked because of his big goofy hands 🙂

The sweetest thing so far is that he told me that he wants my to have my dream wedding, and he will even start selling things to give me what I want!!! ( I would NEVER make him do that though!!! Just cute that he offered! )

I LOVE craft stores, but Fiance HATES them (because there’s nothing for him to look at). So one day he takes me to the craft store so I can pick out the perfect shade of teal as a color swatch for a couple of projects. I’m scouring the rows upon rows of fabric bolts complaining that one is too light or dark etc, and for days I’ve been going on and on about this particular color. He stops and pulls out the perfect shade and says “This is teal, right?” Tongue out

Fiance maintains that the thing he is looking forward to most about the wedding is being married, and me having his last name.

We visited friends who already have kids.  I was playing around w/ their 1 year old son.  I caught him looking at me while I was playing with the child.  As soon as we got into our car on our way home, he just blurted out “I can’t wait to have kids with you, hon.  You’re gonna be a great mommy.”  I just gave him a big fat hug and kiss.  He did not know I got a bit teary eyed when he wasn’t looking.  =)

The night Fiance and I decided we would cross the line from just friends to more than that, I had taken him to a dinner party. I knew the hostess very well and had told her I’d help in the kitchen.  I was helping and going back and forth from the kitchen and back to him to see if he wanted anything.  He was barely talking to anyone there.

When the party was over and we got back to my place he said “You know, tonight just confirmed for me how attracted I am to you.  We were in a room full of people and all I could do was stare at you.”

More recently he surprised me by picking up a nail polish I’d been eyeing but would not buy because it was too expensive.

All along he’s said he just wants to get married and say “I do”, that nothing else matters.  It’s really very cute!

I don’t care if my Fiance sees the dress before our wedding, but he made me go “Awwwwww” today when I told him I ordered it:

Me: I ordered my dress today! Yay! Its….

Him: Don’t tell me!

Me: Well you’re going to see it when it comes in because we have no place to hide it.

Him: Noooo! I don’t want to see it until you are on your dad’s arm, walking down the aisle of the church towards me and our future. I want how amazingly beautiful you’ll look to be a surprise.

What could I say to that but “I’ll try to find somewhere great to hide it!”

I bought my wedding dress at a sample sale, so I had to bring it home.  My partner said that he didn’t want to see it – but an hour later I caught him looking at one of my bridal magazines and he was asking me all kinds of questions about the dress – “does it look like this one?” “does it have that cut out thing in the top (that’s his way of describing a sweetheart neckline”.

He finally kept asking me to try it on for him – but I didn’t – I told him he just has to wait!
