I really love my s/o but all I ever get her is flowers or jewelry. I wanted to know a few other alternatives to further keep my spouse happy. She loves the color pink. She enjoys animals. She also enjoys family. I just need a few fresh ideas to Keep things fresh and enjoyable for her. I know no one can really speak for what she likes but I am asking for opinions please. I just want to keep her happy 🙂

My husband bought me a spa day. I don’t like massages so I did a hair cut, color, and they did my hair. Plus a mani/pedi. It was wonderful.
He writes me love notes, which I treasure and keep in a special box.
He let’s me sleep in and brings me Starbucks coffee in bed when he’s off work, I’m a coffee person so I love this.
He occasionally surprises me with staycations at a local boutique hotel.

@Tavien45lyfe: I would love it if my FH would surprise me with a spa day, if I came home and dinner was ready (I do all the cooking), buying/renting me a movie I want to see with some wine and snacks for a movie night on the couch..
really, anything that shows he’s been paying attention and put thought into things. I give FH a hard time becuase in 9+ years he never bought me flowers, not even once (about 6 weeks ago he came home from work with flowers that he got from a vedor at the expo happening at his hotel just so I would stop saying he’s never given me flowers) BUT he does lots of other things that are more thoughtful.
He bought me the team canada olympic mittens that I really wanted that were impossible to find – he dug through the whole store just to find a pair of size small (instead of the large which was all you could get anywhere), we missed a movie in theatres I really wanted to see and when it came out on DVD he bought it for me and some snacks for a movie night on the couch, he bought me a copy of a book he knew I really wanted…little things, not really typical, but sweet and thoughtful.

Plan fun dates that are a bit different than usual.
Coupons (like make her coupons for stuff she likes that she can cash in)

Spa days are awesome! or if you cant do the whole day maybe just a manicure. My OH sometimes brings home my favourite sweets (candies) or ingredients so we can do some cooking together – usually a food we dont normally have like a huge cheese cake, yum.

@Tavien45lyfe: I think you really have to pay more attention and pick up on stuff she likes.
What I am also happy about are nice shoes and hand bags, watch, books thaT he thinks I will like, vacation.
My best Christmas gift were runningtights because I had wantedshe, for quite some time, so that’nicotinetypical but didn’t take dh ,ore than listening to me 😉
Last year x,as he got me the Nikon one camera because it takes pictures even before you take the photo and as I was pregnant he thought that was great for capturing the baby. Following the camera, he used ,y bay to get me more equipment (such as a flash etc), so I think it’s always a smart idea to buy sth that you can build on later.

Sweets! Esp sprinkles cupcakes or macaroons!
& ditto on the love notes, I never throw them out 🙂
I think a bouquet that has each flower hand picked by SO would be sweet but I love flowers! & even more with a gorgeous vase! Or better yet a potted plant so it would live longer? 🙂

My Fiance knows my two weaknesses are books and food. We go on dates that we call book days where we go used bookstore hopping and finish off the day at Barnes and Nobel (so you can get those pesky 3rd and 5th books in the series you just couldn’t find). Yesterday He took me on a mini date to the super fancy grocery store where we bought sushi for dinner and I got a new kind of orange (it was delicious). For valentine’s day he came home with a movie I had really wanted to see in theaters, but that we never got to because of his crazy work schedule. A few weeks ago he also randomly came home with the sequel to a book I had just bought because he found it on sale. He really suprised me with that one and mentally my mouth is still hanging open about it. Basically the things that show he’s really paying attention to me as a person and going the extra bit to get me things/do things that make me happy.

@Tavien45lyfe: You say she likes family so could you surprise her with an unannounced family visit to you! My FH did this for me last year. Here’s what he did:
FH called my sister and invited them to travel to RI to see us for my birthday. Asked her to keep it a surprise and meet us at our favorite restaurant on bday night. Meanwhile, I was completely unaware anything was happening.
The day came and FH and I head for my bday dinner and as we are seated, I see my wonderful sister, Brother-In-Law and two nephews there waiting for us! I was gobsmacked. It was awesome. FH also had flowers delivered to the restaurant so we had a lovely display on our table. It is one of my favorite memories in fact. From there, we had a lovely weekend with them staying at a nearby hotel and I got to enjoy my family, birthday and FH all in one.
Family, flowers, food… awesomeness.

I love to be gifted “experiences”! Massages, tickets to the theater, a romantic night our, dance lessons, cooking lessons, winery tour, etc.
Also, take notes about random things she says she likes/wants. If you have a smart phone – just make a note or list for present ideas. Then if you’re sitting out at dinner and she mentions that she loves that handbag her friend got, or that she’s always wanted to take a pottery class or whatever, you can discreetly pull out your phone and note it down, so it’s there for you when you’re looking for inspiration!
