Darling Husband and I are going to Vegas in a week and we have not made an itinerary yet! Looking for recommendations re: places to eat, shows to see, things to do etc! We have already seen the Love cirque de soleil show and have gone to the Grand Canyon. Aside from that we are very open to suggestions Thanks:)

I was recently there a couple months ago and saw Mystere and loved it! A great restaurant to try is Mix at Mandalay Bay. You will have an AMAZING view of the strip while you’re enjoying your dinner! I wish I could give more suggestions of what to do but I only stayed on the strip and was there for my bachelorette party. 😉

We ate at the Paris buffet which was DELISH!
We enjoyed Zumanity, and the X Burlesque show as well. We saw Penn & Teller the first time we went to Vegas, as well as Terry Fator at the Mirage. All very good shows.
We checked out the dolphin habitat at the Mirage, the big cats at MGM, and the flamingo sanctuary/conservatorium/gardens at the Flamingo.

I went to Firefly this summer- it is a delicious tapas restaurant just off the strip. We went for lunch, and it was so good we were contemplating returning for dinner. I’m drooling just thinking about it…
Edit: hahaha, I just googled it and there was a salmonella outbreak at that restaurant! Maybe you should not go, but I still would, lol

i second mystere! i saw it a few years back and it was awesome! and i always like to check out the lions at the mgm grand and the dancing water at the bellagio.

@lilchicana: The lions are no longer at MGM Grand. They were not there on my last trip.
@MissGeeBee: Last time, I stayed at the MGM Grand and had an awesome meal at Wolfgang Puck’s there. I swear that was the best gnocchi I have every had. I have also seen Ka at the MGM Grand. Some of my favorite things to do is to walk through the casinos and malls and check out the expensive stores. What you find there is just mind boggling. We went to Tryst one evening and had so much fun as well.

We went to Madame Tussaud’s, which was surprisingly fun. We also went to XS nightclub in the Encore – super fun. We ate at http://www.charliepalmer.com/aureole-las-vegas one night (they have a multi-story glass wine cellar that people on wires travel to pick up wines for tables – awesome to watch). Also went to Pink Taco in the Hard Rock (meh) and Serendipity 3 at Caesar’s (they have awesome and gigantic desserts!).
Also worth a trip: the Walgreens on the strip for souvenirs and Margaritaville.

The Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan was the best buffet ever!

@lilchicana: Same here. I went in 2009 and then again in 2012. I was like, “Where did the lions go?”

I saw LOVE at the Mirage and it was AMAZING!
Also for a fancier dinner Olives at the Bellagio is really great and Jaleo at the Cosmopolitan are two of my favorites!

Gordon Ramsay Steak is really good for something fancy.
We’re going in a few months and we’re going to try the Eiffel Tower restaurant and Le Cirque (at the Bellagio). Never been to either, hope they’re good.
I’ve heard good things about Hash House a Go Go.. my friend raved about their fries lol.
Hard Rock Cafe is always a safe bet!
The Wynn has some nice restaurants… I forget the one we went to a few years ago, but you really can’t go wrong.
There’s a nice Chinese place in NYNY… not expensive but it’s tasty.
Maggiano’s is also a safe bet.

If you are looking for a bit of fun.. go to Dick’s Last Resort in the excalibur (Castle hotel) .. The waiters and waitresses are actors and they are complete jerks to you. It is absolutely hilarious!! The food is okay and the price is decent but the entertainment is totally worth it! Especially if you will be drinking!

@MissGeeBee: I love all the restaurants at The Cosmopolitan, especially the “secret” pizza place. Sage at Aria is super fun for a special, fancy meal. Great sushi at Wazuzu at the Wynn. Happy hour at Olives is a good deal and you get prime viewing of the Bellagio fountains. Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi is pretty good. Definitely get a drink at Parasol Down at the Wynn and watch the water show. The wine bar at the Wynn, La Cave is another gorgeous place to get a drink. If you go downtown, Le Thai is a good local spot, much more affordable than any place on the strip.
