Books. I read ALL the time.

Classical music.

Still listening to groups’ music after they weren’t popular anymore.

Not being fake just to fit in.

I was way into Pokemon in 6th/7th grade. I ran into some boys at the movie theater when I went to go see the movie and they teased me endlessly.

I was also crazy obsessed with the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer all through high school. I still love the show and rewatch it from time to time, but I cringe when I look back at what a freak I must have looked like! My entire ROOM was a shrine. I had cardboard standups of the characters, posters everywhere…hell my bedding, throw pillows and curtains were all Buffy related. Ah…being a teen is fun 🙂

Books, comics, anime, broadway, theatre, classic literature and poetry, classical music…

I was a huge “nerd” in school.

But now that these things are more commonly accepted, I’m suddenly “super awesome” to people.

Whatever, as long as they’re nice to me now. ^_^

FYI I still like all these things.

I was friends with a very alternative crowd so it was not cool at ALL to enjoy things that were mainstream. I used to get nagged endlessly for liking top 40 music.

I clearly remember the day I got a brand new awesome pair of Vans shoes. I was so excited to wear them to school until I got there and this one kid name Nathan_____ made fun of  me ALL day long saying “you’re not suppose to wear Vans……you drive those! ” etc etc etc. He was so mean lol. I just kinda brushed it off but it really hurt my feelings lol.

HS and college time; EVERYONE had them! So take that JERK!

I used to love reading romance novels in high school, and my friends would tease me nonstop. My reading tastes have expanded tremendously since then, but I still like to read one every now and then.

For me it would have to be reading. I was a total nerd for books (I still am) and would rather spend my lunch hour reading than flirting with boys or getting into trouble.

Also drinking. My high school was a big party school and every Friday and Saturday there were endless parties going on. One of my friends asked me why I never went and I said because I think drinking til your passed out is not cool. And she told me it was the only way to get cool.

I also never wore make up in high school and I was criticized for that too.
