I have to admit that I am not excited about registering for gifts. Fiance have lived together for 2 years, own a house, and have everything we need! We don’t need to upgrade, because we buy what we want, so everything is brand new.
I do not want or expect gifts at my wedding. People are travelling and paying for accomodations- that is more than enough. I feel like registering is like ‘Hey! Buy me a gift for my wedding…AND I’m going to tell you what to buy me.’ Future Mother-In-Law is insisting on us registering because people will buy us gifts regardless of what we say, and I love her so I’ve compromised with FI on a small registry that HE is in charge of doing.
That being said, if people want to give me what I really want then I wish I could register for:
Student Loan, credit card, and mortgage payments
a new car
a new barbecue
& a puppy!
How about you ladies?

I would love money towards my mortgage or a student loan payment registry!
Why don’t you register for a BBQ?
@Roxy- Because if I’m getting a new bbq, its going to be one of the huge, built in grill kinds!!!

House, student loan payments, an accurate predictor of the future, a puppy and a kitten, an entire houseful of furniture, and a maid service.

Ooooooooooooh!! I want maid service, too!!!!!

@laboroflove, ooooh, maid service! Great idea. I definitely need that.
We’re in a similar situation with living together, though we plan to use registering to upgrade some items.
We’ll be organizing honeymoon donations as well because we’re on a super tight budget and want our honeymoon to be amazing!

I wish I could register for a house, student loan payments, a snazzy new computer (for games), and a PS3- but I’m about thisclose to registering for that last one.
