I second the cooking supplies! Things like not having a spatula or measuring cup can be a pain! Especially when you start cooking and THEN realize you don’t have the utensils lol

Cookware (pots, pans and utensils) and pantry staples like rice, flour, sugar etc etc

And cleaning supplies! That can really add up!

soon2btnt:  This! Target has a small tool kit for about $20. It’s perfect. Doesn’t have a drill though. (I got it as a gift, thought it was stupid at the time…I have used it so many times. Love it)

Gift cards too. Like Bed, Bath Beyond, Target, Walmart, Lowes Home Depot.  That way she can get things as she needs them.

The best cleaning supplies money can buy. I cheaped out and bought things from the dollar store for so long. Then my Fiance came along and was like “This stuff sucks. It clearly doesn’t do the job right.” and bought the best mop, broom, dust pan, and bucket, sponges, etc. It really does make a difference.

A hamper with WHEELS! My mom bought me one along with a few other things when I moved out. It makes trips down to the laudry room so much easier.

Some financial budgeting book I wish I had. It would have saved much heartache, a gas card is good some grocery gift cards, a small tool kit, some cook books. I think when you first move out anything is appreciated!

Small tools – hammer, screw drivers, wrench.. A flashlight – even better if it’s one of those hand-crank to charge ones, because then you never have to worry about batteries! Plunger.. Dish towels/cleaning rags (the lint free microfiber ones!).

theatrejulia:  Definitely a fire extinguisher!!

My husband picked one up from a prize table at a golf tournament, half jokingly because the prizes were all shit.. And then! We had a fire in our home a few months later, I hate to think what would’ve happened if we didn’t remember it was in the closet!

I would also recommend a small toolbox with a screwdriver set, flashlight, hammer, measuring tape.. Etc.
