Hello Bees! I am newly engaged and planning a 2015 wedding 🙂 I am curious to know, those of you that have already gotten married , what you would have done differently. As in what you would vs. wouldnt have bought, things you wish had done or things that you ultimately could have done with out and never noticed. What you would have spent more money on, what you would have paid more attention to. Things of that sort. Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated!!

I love reading these….look at this thread that is still active. Lots and lots of mental notes to take in.

Ssims88: Absolutely nothing. I have not heard a single negative thing about our wedding from anyone. We had a blast at our wedding. The only things I would reccommend are to a) make sure that whatever bustle you have is strong enough for your train (mine was not – wedding co-ordinator was awesome and made a make-shift one for me without me even asking); and, b) make sure your extra shoes are in the day bag with you. I forgot the shoes I was going to change into and so my mom went to get some Dr. Scholls that were too big from the pharmacy so I ended up with pink fuzzy slipper socks. It made for a good laugh for everyone that I showed mine off to!

I wanted a very small intimate wedding or a destination wedding. Instead I had a big elaborate wedding where I didn’t know two thirds of the guests. I was a miserable bride.

I wish I had someone video our ceremony. Nothing fancy, just anything to have. My grandpa made a speech and his alzheimer is quickly progressing and I wish I had a video of those memories.

I wish I would have told the DJ to not play Kenny G.
But seriously, everything went really well! There are always going to be a few adjustments – there were a few items I forgot to bring, but nothing big. I would DEFINITELY recommend doing the first look for photos before the ceremony – it calmed me down so much and we had a great time during the ceremony.
