I think its very possible to be frightened of peeing ( considering what your going through! ), just like some women after birth are scared of pooing!
I’m glad your mum can help you sort things out!
Feel better soon!

so sorry you have to go through this.. dont panic, hope u get well soon.
I had chronic UTIs for years. AZO until you can get some antibiotics. They have to have something comparable at your local drug store, just look for the active ingredient Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride. It will make your pee orange and it will stain your underwear, so wear some period panties. The relief is so worth the orange undies, though! Feel better, I know your pain and it is awful ๐
Taking some painkillers, and waiting half an hour to go pee, so that they will kick in and it doesn’t hurt…
Are you able to get the AZO (Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride) that Nurse Bee mentioned? Getting help fast was the best thing for me; the longer I waited the worse I felt.
How do you cope with the pain if you don’t have any painkillers? It doesn’t hurt yet but I know it will and that’s why I’m waiting…..
I used to get these all the time~ I found taking a shower helped for some reason…. and I kind of peed a little the the shower just to relieve the feeling, and there was blood.
AZO is your best friend right now! It kind of numbs you down there so that you can’t feel the weird pain and feeling like you constantly have to pee.
If you get cranberry juice make sure its straight up and not sugared up because that can cause more harm than good.
Drink lots of plain water too!
I would get antibiotics ASAP though!
I feel so bad cause I know how much this sucks! It can last for a while too! Make sure you pee a little before sex AND after sex.
I found that once I started doing that I wouldn’t get them anymore!
I don’t think we have any azo in our pharmacies, and they’re all closed now anyway ๐ Trust me to get it on a bloody Sunday!!!!
I sat in a bath with hot water to pee…
ETA okay, that sounds gross. I would only run a bit of hot water, enough to sit in, pee and get out.
My first UTI was like yours, a little discomfort and then *bam* lots of blood. Then-FI had to take me to the ER bc we didn’t know what was going on. After you treat this one, though, you’ll know how to prevent them and feel them coming on. Feel better soon!
I’m drinking as much water as I can right now, I think I’m creating an oedema somewhere lmao. And hopefully the painkillers will kick in soon. Mum told me to pee in a shower with the warm water running over my lady parts, which will help make things better apparently
Laying off the cranberry juice for now, and just sticking to water. From what I garner, the main issue why it hurts when you pee is because of the acidity (I think? I’m not sure). So in order to eliminate the pain, one must slightly increase the pH of whatever the hell is coming out of the urethra, and drinking more water will kind of neutralise the pH of the urine so that it doesn’t burn so much. I don’t know what else I could take though.
This sucks ๐ Why is it us ladies have to get all of these nasty things?! Childbirth, periods, more prone to UTIs…
Glad to hear you’re getting antibiotics, OP! I once tried to self-treat a UTI with azo and water and cranberry juice. I tried for a week or so without antibiotics but the pain got so bad I wound up in the ER: my untreated UTI turned into a KIDNEY INFECTION! If I ever have another UTI that lasts more than a day, I go to the doctor. I don’t mess around anymore lol.
