@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: I’m so glad to hear your feeling better, and that you went in and got some care! You have to take care of yourself girl! Get plenty of rest and you should hopefully feel better soon.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: I hate healthcare. It’s impossible for some of my dearest friends/family members to find coverage without paying out the wazoo because of existing health problems. Granted the problems are under control, but if its something genetic, healthcare agencies shouldn’t punish you for having “bad genes”. Ugh. I’m glad you are feeling better. If you feel anything that crazy you need to see a professional. I’m glad your Fiance took you. I’d rather face the money woes with someone I love, rather than lose them because they were afraid of financial strain…. reading this post gave me the point of view of my Fiance. I think I need to go have a talk with him when we go on break.

I know I’m late coming here but after reading your post I plead with you next time to research some kind of 24 hour care center now. Or just go to the ER.

As a family that recently lost a son, a brother/bil I can tell you that we would give every single dollar we are worth to have his life back. I know it’s hard not to get stressed about dollars and debt. But it is JUST money. Your life is irreplaceable even with all the money in this universe. You have no idea how many times each and every one of us have blamed ourselves and repeatedly asked ourselves if we should have caught more signs or made him go to the hospital that night he complained of a arm pain that we’ve all had in our life and thought was normal.

Next time, please just go to a 24hr clinic, hospital, whatever. Don’t play with your life because you do not want to have a hospital bill. My family is living proof that it’s not worth it to save the dollars.

I’m so happy for you that your husband rushed you to the ER!!!

P.S. Just read your latest posts, glad you have a place for routine care and emergency now!!!

I’m so glad you’re feeling better!  I unfortunately know what it’s like to sit at home and wonder if going to the ER is worth the associated bill. ๐Ÿ™

You said before that the ins you looked into wouldn’t cover your diabetes at all.  However, I thought with HIPAA even though the ins co can put in a pre-existing condition clause it can’t extend more than 12-18 months?  At least this way if you got insurance, you would be covered for everything else (and continue at your low-cost clinic for the diabetes) and when the pre-existing condition clause ran out be covered for your diabetes again?

awww i’m sorry your going through this. It sucks not having health insurance and I know how scary it is. I wont go to the er unless I am bleeding to death or something. about 2 years ago when I went after a car acident the ER bill was like 300 and thats not including the X rays and medication. There has to be a better way to run healthcare there just has to be. I am terrified of having things not covered when I do get insurance.
