I think I’ve been obsessed with baby names since I was like 8 😛  But yeah, I definitely have the baby bug right now… especially when one of my bridesmaids is due a couple of months after the wedding! Ahhh so excited to have her baby bump in the pictures. 🙂

I love love love the name Eli. I think it would be fine to name him after your fiance and call him by his middle name too… my Future Sister-In-Law did that with her son. As for Ryan… I knew a girl with that name in HS but hers was spelled Ryann. Not sure which first name would go best with that though… maybe Lia?

For a boy, I’m thinking David Attilio (my dads first name and his dads first name/FI’s middle name). For a girl, I’m thinking Julia or Juliana Marie 🙂

I’m personally not a fan of giving your kid hs fathers name and then using his middle name day to day. Just call him Mathew Jonah instead. Easier.

I LOVE names. I have sooo many on a list i have been keeping up to date for 1.5 years.  And also an old list i had back in highschool (thank goodness i never had a kid early, i hate all those names now hah)

I suggest the following sites to look up names.  Keep a list!! Eventually you will be happy you documented all your favourites!

My husband’s brother is named after their father – but they always call him by his middle name.  I don’t think I’ve once heard anyone refer to him by his legal first name.  It’s your baby… call him whatever you want!!

I guess I have trouble understanding why you’d call the son by the same name as the father. It seems so confusing. If you like the name Matthew, why not just call him Matthew? Unless you like the name “Junior” then I wouldn’t call him Jonah. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I am somewhat obsessed w. baby names as well. I like more traditional names. I am shocked what some people call their kids these days.
