I have already bought hurricane vases, white river rocks, and floating candles. Also small glass tea-light candle-holders and candles. I was going to use those for centerpieces.
I’m worried about the white rocks, white floating candles, and clear glass not being enough color. (Table linens aren’t going to add a lot of color either, they are light sage green, about the color of the Weddingbee background. The ONLY green linens my venue has either either light sage green or deep forest green, no just regular “green”.)
I was at Lowe’s this weekend and had another idea: live orchids.
(Still with the tea-light candles around them.)
Am I crazy to change my centerpiece idea this late in the game? I figure it should only cost me another $150-$250, depending on the orchids I get. And maybe they’d give me a discount for buying so many too.

If you REALLY want to you can get away with changing them but the ones you already have seem great to me. I dont think there has to be that much color…

Why don’t you try getting some floralytes? You can put them in the water and then they will glow 🙂 You can get them at http://www.save-on-crafts.com
Or what if you changed out your white river rocks for colored glass beads? I think there are a ton of things you could do to add color to your current centerpieces.

Have you considered renting or buying colored table runners? Our linens are black but so are the lanterns we’re using as centerpieces, so we rented champagne table runners. Et voila!

Only you can decide if you want to spend more money on orchids. Don’t forget if they come in that ugly green plastic pot you will likely also want to purchase a prettier container for them.

Dang, I am so indecisive… I wonder if I can return the hurricane vases so I’m not out the money, then that would even things out. I would have to do something about the green pots, maybe wrap them in 6″ wide ribbon to make them prettier.

Live orchids are great for centerpieces, and you wouldn’t have to totally scrap what you have either, maybe you could use them at every other table, or put the rocks with the orchids or something
