I am thinking of changing my straps on my dress
this is the front, you can see where it is too wide and I bought it as a sample
here is the back and you can see the lace detail.
The straps are too wide and they need to be angled in, so I was thinking of adding straps like these
or either keeping them the way they are or going plain.

I like the simplicity of the current straps in the front, but the lace is really pretty in the back. Maybe you could sort of do it half and half, with the lace starting around the top of the shoulder and sort of gradually blending into the plan strap?

Could it be strapless? I think the current straps look like the type that are there to hang the dress up.

The way the back looks it almost looks like the dress was much, much larger and was altered down.. but they never did anything with the straps.
I would certainly change them because it doesn’t look quite right.

@gelaine22: I was really tryign to stay away from strapless. I tried them on and I always pull on the top.

where do you think i can find the lace to match? Its a cassablanca and I bought it second hand

@MrsBobcat: Could you just add some tulle/organza material underneath the current straps to thicken them up (since it matches the cummerbund fabric)? The lace straps you posted look a bit of a mess and detract from the dress.
ETA: You can also copy Casablanca 1975 and add some lace appliques/organza lace to the straps in a graduated pattern:
