I saw a picture from a wedding, and saw a great/cute idea that I’m sure is common; it was a basket full of flip flops. They used a ribbon to keep each together with a tag on it that said the size.
Anyone doing this, or have done this?
Any suggestions on where to get flip flops, obviously, I want them to be cheap since I need to get a lot!
If any of you have pictures of this, can you please post it?
I am wondering, where should I put it? Also, the picture I saw had a note attached to the handle of the basket.. saying something along the lines of “Heels look great, but are not the greatest to dance in. There is no need to go barefoot, please help yourself and take a pair from this bin. Dance the night away!” It rhymed.. any one have an idea of what to write? I want to make sure the ladies know that they are for them to take, wear, and have.
Any information/suggestions, please post!

@splatt11x: I thought about doing this, but then I always saw it at beach weddings so i wasnt sure. Its a great idea! The dollar stores always have flip flops or old navy sells them for 2.50$ or the christmas tree store!

I just finished mine today!
I went with Old Navy flip flops. I saw some at Hobby Lobby for 1.99 though.

From my cousin’s wedding:

I did it for my outdoor wedding. Life is not fun when your heels sink in the grass. I got my flip flops at Old Navy last year when they went on sale. Love this idea! Also, think the guest will appreciate them for sure! Here is a cell phone pic when we were finished putting them together. Obviously, at the wedding they will be displayed nicely.

@als87:i LOVE the box! Where did you get it from?
@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: SO CUTE!! Love the saying you have on there too!!! Did your cousin get the flip flops at old navy? They look really nice!
@GardenBride: How long did it take you to put all of the sizes on them? I want to do that, but do not know if its needed….I have little patience! lol
For all of you…..
Soundsl like Old Navy is the place to go then, hun??!! I am just wondering, did you get a pair for every female that was attending the wedding.. or did you just get a general number? Also, how did you figure out how many of each size to get? I know that sizes 7-9 are most common, but I am not sure!
Thank you all!!! Got some great ideas =)

@splatt11x: Thanks! I got the box from Hobby Lobby. It’s a wooden crate that I painted white…I think it was around $12

@splatt11x: I believe she got them from the dollar store but I believe Old Navy has dollar day when you can get so many for $1/pair for so many pairs.
I believe she got the most of 7,8,9 and less of pairs on each way. Remember guys may take them too (tux shoes are uncomfortable!) so larger sizes are appreciated too.

We did it and they were a huge hit. We got married on a golf course so I think you can have flip flops anywhere. I bought them from Target for $1, we bought all hot pink. I tied a little saying on that said “A sweet treat for your dancing feet. Love Bride and Groom” They were gone so quickly I didn’t even get a pair.

@splatt11x: The general guideline is to take the no. of female guests and buy enough for roughly 30-40% of them. I know a couple of brides that have had some many left over and so its much better to run out than to have a ton left.
Old Navy flip flops are probably your best bet also because not only are they super comfy, in the summer months they generally have clearance sales where pairs are only $1 each!

Wow, I love this idea! One of my friends did it a long time ago and I always thought it was cool. So are those the favors then? Or are you gonna do other favors as well?

“Are your feet sore?? Kick off your heels and get back on the dance floor!!”
“Dance around in your pretty shoes and never miss a beat, but when they ache, just take a break, and wear these on your feet”
“Bought new shoes to match your dress & now your feet are sore?
Please help yourself to a pair of these so you can dance some more!”
“All dressed up with pretty shoes, dancing more and more, Please help yourself to a pair of these, if your feet should get sore”

Okay, so every one has pretty much told me to go with old navy. I will have to go tomorrow and check out how many I can get for the $1 price! Hopefully they have them in stock! I guess I can always order them online if needed!
Now someideas of what to put them in! lol. Does any one have nice basket(s) or wooden crate(s)they would be willing to sell? If not, have any recommendations as to where to get them??
Also, what would be a simple way to keep them as a pair & also put the size on each? If I had to tie a bow around each pair, I think I might go crazy! i was thinking of using the thin hair scrunches that are like rubber bands that come in all different colors? What do you think? Then I would have 3 different baskets/crates OR dividing a bigger basket or crate into 3 with some sort of divider so I could label it like- sizes 5-6, sizes 7-9, and sizes 10-12…something like that.
@julies1949: THOSE ARE GREAT!!! SO CLEVER AND CUTE!! I will be stealing one of those!
