Yeah….every scientific study out there says that the happiness levels with one’s marriage and general life take a dramatic dip in the child rearing years. That’s a big reason why my husband and I are taking several years to really experience life outside of parenthood, and possibly only having one kid. I have to say, though – my niece is not nearly so bad as that, and we’ve done overnight and weekend-long babysitting stints (she’s 27 months)

This is comical.  Doesn’t change my thinking about wanting children, but I am definitely in no rush.

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice).

Thanks for this, deff made me laugh!

This is hilarious! My daughter was NOTHING like this but my mom says that whatever other children I end up having will be payback for the easy time I had with her =)

Oh my gosh. I love the goat! And this:

1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.

2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

@JamaicaBride: That would make me consider not having any more, just in case!

Personally, I love children, but we are not in a rush at all. We’re planning now to wait about 2-4 years after the wedding before we start trying. Since I’ll only be 24 (and him 26) that puts me between 26 and 28, which I think is a perfectly acceptable time to start trying for children.

Also, the closer it gets, the more willing I am to push it back!
