Does she like movies? Books? Crafts? What are her hobbies and what is she able to do now?

pinkshoes:  Arrange to have some takeout meals delivered or give her gift cards to restaurants so she can choose what she feels like eating on any given day.

Is she able to go for a massage and/or acupuncture?  If so, maybe a gift certificate to use while the rest of her family is away.

If she’s kind of stuck at home, I think a nice little gift basket full of things to do at home would be amazing.  Movies, magazines, tea, chocolate, maybe a heat pack, anything to relieve the pain if only for a short time.  Also the idea of having a meal or two delivered would be great if she’s got limited mobility.  The worst is feeling like you can’t eat well just because you can’t stand up long enough to cook.)

Ryansgirl:  +1 I like the idea of doing a gift basket of things she can do/likes doing at home…movies, popcorn, gift cards to restaurants (that she can get delivery from), lotions she likes, bath products, etc.
