Thinking on stacking rings. Is it practical and comfortable?

Hi Bee!  Practical is a tough one to address, no jewelry is practical ??

Comfortable depends on your finger.  I see lovely stacks on ladies that I could never pull off on my smaller finger, don’t have the real estate.  I need thinner rings to be able to wear three at one time.

Whether you feel them or they move, see above, same thing, if you put thick bands on a smaller finger, they might be uncomfortable.

Sometimes you need to get a quarter to a half size larger size of your stackers, because generally speaking, every ring you put on makes the space that’s left on your finger larger, so the next ring will be too snug.

One think you can do it purchase cheaper silver rings and play with those!  If one is too thick and wide, use it as a RHR.  I found that helped me the most as I am able to tell now how thick I can go, which ones look good together, etc.  Then if I want to commit to solid gold and genuine stones I know I won’t regret it.

Doing that allowed me to get a solid gold “bead” band in rose gold and I wear that thing all the time!  I got it in silver first.

I don’t think all rings look good stacked.  There is a bit of a trick to it, one being sometimes the height as it comes off the finger (as in, from your finger upwards to the ceiling), looks better if the stacking rings are all the same height.

But personal preference comes in there too, some love the look of different heights.  Some don’t like to mix different metals, some do!

Give it a whirl, try on some at stores too, that can help!

I wear 3 rings. I wear a micro pave band on the bottom, a half eternity band in the middle, and my engagement ring on top. The rings are comfortable for the most part, but I had to get used to the weight because all 3 of my rings are platinum. If I get any more rings to change up the look then they will probably be white gold just because it’s not as heavy as platinum on the finger. My finger is a size 4.75 but my rings are a size 5. You have to go up a little so you don’t get muffin top on your finger.

Also, my friend wears 2 eternity bands with her engagement ring in the middle and it’s beautiful and blingy! It doesn’t look weird at all. But I think that you should try on rings to see what you like. I tried some silver CZ rings first before I got the platinum and diamond rings to see what I liked on my finger.

bbcc :  I love stacking rings! I’m not married yet but I end up stacking with my engagement ring all the time. It’s definitely not practical, but is fun if you’re going out or not doing anything too strenuous. Here are two stacks I like:

I don’t find wearing 3 rings to be any more uncomfortable than wearing two. I have three different rings, but one of my coworkers wears two identical diamond bands on each side of her engagement ring, and that looks really nice )and very blingy!)

Here’s my stack:

I wear three rings and don’t notice them, I even wear them when I work out (including weights) and they’re fine. I basically only take them off when I get a spray tan or wash my hair.

All of my rings are pretty thin though.

My two bands that I stack with my engagement ring are fairly thin, about 1.5 mm wide, and I think that makes it more comfortable. I have short fingers so wider bands, or more than 2, would probably be too much.

I wear four rings 24/7. It feels no dfferent than wearing two rings. It’s really a matter of how much space you have on your finger and how wide the bands are. I can wear about 7-8 millimeters comfortably. Any more and I start to feel it. Here’s my every day stack.

2mm plain, 2mm knife edge, 1.3mm spacer, 1.7mm shared prong
