I’m biased though. I don’t like yellow gold at all lol.

ETA: I love that set, and I don’t say that lightly! I usually HATE most people’s rings LOL

I love it. My ring is white gold but you should go with what you prefer. Personally I’ve always worn silver jewellery, i have a cool skin tone and yellow gold doesn’t suit me.

My Boyfriend or Best Friend and I are also broke college students, but because of moissanite we were able to afford a 3ct Old European Cut. We then splurged on a custom signature setting. Idk how broke “broke” is, but if you want something different, or bigger, you can probably make it work with some serious saving and cut-backs. It took us almost 2 years to save up, but he’s getting me my dream ring and it means the world to both of us!

Would moissanite possibly be an option for you?

I usually am not a fan of yellow gold, but I actually prefer it in these options. I think it gives it some clearer definition than the white gold ring.

@cat-distraction:  When I say I hate yellow gold, I mean I hate it on me πŸ˜‰ I’m very pale with pink skin undertones. Yellow gold does not look right on me.

If you have a more warm skin tone, yellow gold will look good on you.

If you have a “cool” skin tone like what I’ve described, white gold looks better πŸ™‚

It gorgeous!  I like the white because it makes the stone look bigger since it’s harder to tell where the stone starts and the metal ends.  Go for it!

@cat-distraction:  I hear ya there. My Bf and I were talking engagement within like 3 months of dating. We started saving, and technically we had the money to buy it a lot sooner than we did, but we also wanted to keep some savings. Family definitely pushed us to get engaged because of religious reasons (sex basically). I’m actually realllllyyyy glad that we waited to get engaged. I never imagined I would say that, but it’s true. The relationship gets easier, and it was nice to get through rough patches without feeling like we were disgracing out title. It’s hard to explain, and now I’m rambling.

Anyways…! haha good luck with yoru search, and if you have ANY hesitation about this ring, or another ring, maybe you should join the betterthandiamond.com forum. We help people find awesome, and inexpensive, rings all the time! Yes, we also help people find affordable diamond rings πŸ™‚

I love yellow gold personally, but maybe not for this set. My friend actually has this EXACT set and I’ve seen it many times in real life. It’s very sparkly. She has it in white gold. And I agree the white gold will make the stone look bigger than the yellow would.
