Well I’ve been lurking on the hive for a while and I figured as I finally picked up my dress this weekend I should post and let you bees in on the secret! I’m hoping to look classic, timeless and romantic with a reasonable dose of ‘wow factor’ 🙂
(it’s also really comfy and light as a feather, as can’t deal with not being comfortable! How my dress maker managed that with such a dress I’ve no idea but she did!)
Inspired by Dita Von Teese’s wedding dress…
…..here she is! (the sleeves have a mind of their own in true Vivienne Westwood style!) (I’m only 5 ft but hoping that I can still pull off the ball gown, wasn’t going to let my height stop me feeling special!)

It’s super gorgeous!! How are you wearing your hair? For some reason I picture a really high modern bun to show off that neckline!

@girlygirl885: I think you’re thinking of another Bee who is also making a custom dress inspired by Dita Von Teese’s dress!
@LittlestLamb: I love and adore the front. Just so elegant and regal. Gorgeous!

I spent a year dress shopping (yep a year) and was afraid that I was going to have to blow my budget completely but perseverance paid off and I feel just like I imagined I would when I put this dress on – it is so worth waiting for that feeling! So glad I was brave and went for the blush colour too 🙂
@misschickpea: I’m actually not going for modern or high but I can see how that would look gorgeous with the dress. My hair is hopefully going to be really soft and romantic looking (this is the only part of my wedding that I had imagined before I got engaged so always knew how I would have it!)
Here it is…hoping it will suit the dress well. There will be more roses and I won’t have the two at the front, pointing forward quite like that….:S!
Wondering about having it a little higher off the back of my neck…really can’t decide!
(I will also have a cathedral length, blush pink veil that my sister is making and I’m doing the embroidery – team effort!)
