About a year ago, I bought my wedding dress. I saw it, loved it, and bought it, on sale.
Its this one:
The Ambrosia. Now, I still love the dress, but its just really not my personal style. That said, I wasn’t even considering a new one since I already have mine.
Today, while looking for a new Valentine’s Day formal dress, I found this beauty! Granted, its in the junior’s section and Penney’s, but I’m crazy for it.
Please follow the link.
Since I’m more of a hipster than a princess, I think it is so much more me, and it’s a lot more casual, which fits our elopement better. The money is no concern, and really its just a preference…
But, is it worth it? Is it bride-y enough for me? Will I regret it later?

@faitherfordandtom: Only you’re going to know if you’ll regret it later or not! I think that second dress is pretty, but to me personally, it wouldn’t be enough. But like I said, only you know yourself! Go with your gut – Ambrosia is a beautiful wedding dress, but if you’re not feeling it, I don’t see why not dress #2! 😀

I’m not a fan of the second dress. It looks too informal and childish to me to be a wedding dress. But if you are looking for something more casual, get something more casual but more bridal. I don’t think the Ambrosia is what you are looking for.

I do not like the second dress 🙁 sorry I know its an elopement but you can wear that dress any day …. Stick w your original

First one for sure! Second doesn’t look bridal at all… U can wear it for engagement party or photoshoot, or even annyversary next year 🙂

The second one doesn’t look like a wedding dress at all. Having said that, you should feel like yourself on your wedding day – and given you say you love the style of the second dress, I get the feeling that the first dress is miles away from what your normal style would be.
I would keep looking. The first dress is a LOT of dress, there’s a lot going on. If you’re uncertain then by all means, keep searching! But I personally don’t think the second one is your dress either.

I actually love the second one. If its your style then go for it! Only you know what you want and only you know if you’ll regret it or not.

I’m not actually a huge fan of either. But go with what you like! If money’s no issue, the second isn’t all that expensive, you could get it and try them both and then decide. If you love it then I’m sure you’d find a time to wear it. But keep in mind, you can probably never get away with the mega dress again.

ive gone for the first one. maybe because the second reminds me of a maxi dress i used to have a few years back. But if its what you feel comfortable in then go for it. its your day afterall

If you like the second dress, then why are you even considering the first? They are nothing like each other (I know: Captain Obvious).
I’m not compleely sold on the exact design of the second – the pattern is a little bit “little girl”, but the same dress with a different pattern – 100% for the win.

It’s your day, so go with what is the most “you”! I do agree with other bees though on the second dress. I understand the style difference and the first dress probably does not suit an elopement, but maybe keep looking for a more simple dress? I understand your feelings regarding a new more “you” dress, but I think you can do better than dress 2!

I dont love either one. I think you should try to find something a little nicer with the same bohemian vibe that you’re looking for in the second dress. You can probably sell your current dress

I really DO NOT like the second flower dress..it looks like something i would wear to the beach or around the house doing gardening. It is not bridal or elegant or anything that is ‘special’ enough for a wedding day. I think if you are going for a more casual wedding there are alot better dresses you can find!
Try this website, it has a few more casual dresses that still feel bridal…check out the reception dresses as well!

um, the first dress is a=-maaaaaaaazing! I’m so surprised you’re doubting it. Jealous!!! I’m a dress regret-ee (twice, actually 1st was due to a venue change though, from the court house to an actual venue, so definitely needed something a little more fancy). I have to say that only you will know what you want to look like walking down the aisle. That being said, how many times do you get to wear a dress like #1? No wedding dress is really YOU- because it’s a wedding dress for ONE day-that you’ll never wear again, if you dont dress up really fancy a lot, you probably wont feel like you in any dressier dress, because it’s not all the time that you’re putting something like that on? I picked a more froofy dress than I actually thought I’d evvvver wear. But I LOVE it. I started with a simple dress, and while it’s pretty, it’s just a simpler dress, I love it too, just not as much as the bigger fancier bridal gown that I later bought. It’s really personal taste. Good luck! 🙂

Personally I like the Ambrosia better. I do like the floral but not for a wedding dress. I think if you love the floral, purchase it for your rehearsal dinner. I had my eye on a short dress and thought about maybe wearing it for the reception but ultimately decided to wear it for the rehearsal instead.
