Before my fiance proposed I would go into jewelry stores all the times and pretend like I was getting engaged.. I’d make up all sorts of different stories to tell the sales people..
then I would cry.
the waiting period SUCKS!

OMG good to know I am NOT ALONE!!!
I am addicted to both online shopping and street shopping… it’s BAD. Especially this month is the sales time so I have every excuse to go look at stores and buy stuff. It’s sooooo much fun but at the same time I have guilts…

@wanttobemrsb: I have definitely been there – shopping to remedy all kinds of life troubles. I have spent almost a year changing many of my financial habits which included a ban on most types of shopping BUT – one thing I do (recently saw mentioned in a personal finance blog as well) is to actively use your Amazon wish list/Etsy favorites/whatever site your privy to. I load both of mine up all the time with things that catch my eye, go back later, remove stuff, add again, rinse, repeat. I’m not suggesting anyone ‘feed’ an undesired shopping habit, but it can be a fun way of ‘shopping’ without spending – but also knowing it’s there if you ever do want it.
I’ve almost never bought anything from this process, but it’ll be easy for my family when the holidays come around!
