We have 135, which is way more than I was wanting to register for, but oh well.  Most things are under $50 though.  There are some pricier items, but not too many.

We have less than 100 right now, but haven’t added plates, cups, silverware, bedding, decor, or bathroom stuff (besides towels).

Just under 60 items.  We’re having a destination wedding, so we are not expecting gifts. =)  All items span prices ranges from $10 – $400.

We have 360 on one, but our guest list is very large, and that registry counts each thing individually (so each napkin counts as one item, each hand towel, etc). I think our other registry is about 200 things or so. We wanted to put on a bunch of items so that there’s a big variety, we don’t expect all of them at all.

I feel like we need to go prune our regisitries. But we’re having 300-400 guests. How large are your weddings?

@indibee:  We’re hoping to have 100 or less.  I keep deleting stuff off the registry. LOL!  Two weeks ago we had 135.  Now we have 125.

Between two registries, we have 158 items (for a guest list of approx 125/~70 households) – but about 8-10 are big-ticket items we don’t expect to get (although I guess the group gift is a possibility).

@mrsbruff2b: FI’s cousin is having a Destination Wedding wedding where everyone has to buy plane tickets and hotel stays. Her registry is crazy expensive. Fine china, expensive towels, glasses, crystalware, expensive vases…you name it. I was shopping for her shower and thinking… “uumm…WHAT?!”. lol.

@indibee: Ours is 175. I’ve heard you register for twice the number of items as you have guests. So you’re below! lol.

@heather5743: me too. I deleted some stuff today too. Me: “Do I really need the pressure cooker?” My answer to me: “You don’t even know how to use a pressure cooker”. Me: “Time to delete the pressure cooker”. lol. It’s easy to get carried away.

@heather5743: I want enough variety so that guests have lots of choices, but I don’t want it so braod that sets aren’t completed :-/ Hmmm. Thankfully I think some of his family will start buying off the registry for Christmas which will shrink it up a bit.

@TheLionQueen: Oh lordy, below?! I don’t think I could spend another hour with a scan gun! LOL. If we even go with the low formula of 125% of your list, that’s 400-500 gifts. Yikes!

@indibee: I was worried about sets not being completed too. I’ve heard that some people register for pots/pans, cutlery, etc separately instead of in a set to avoid big ticket items. I thought long and hard about doing this, but in the end decided against it because I want all of our new things to match.

I’m so glad I found this thread! I could’ve sworn I read somewhere that having more than 40 items on your registry looks bad. We went for our first time and got to 50, and didn’t even make it through the bath stuff! (Went before dinner, both of us started getting really hungry by 730..haha) I was panicking thinking I would have to go through and delete stuff to keep it under 40…!
