That is a ton of candy! But it will give a lot of options! Be careful through… the cost can sneak up on you.

Are you following a color scheme?
Yum! I would grub on that candy, fo sho.
We did our childhood favorites on ours and didnt follow a color scheme, so I would worry about it matching. We just did coordinating signs and ribbons on the jars.

No color scheme the cost would be radonkuloous (haha)
I am just going to have matching ribbon and decorate the scoops! Hope fully my wedding being right after easter I can save alot of $$$$ (crossing fingers)

@amyddlz: I wanted to do matchy-matchy candy, but after I started adding up the cost I said “no thanks” and will head over to Costco! So far I bought 700 mini-Tootsie Roll Pops for $7.00. Now that’s a bargain!

@amyddlz: Besides, Sams/Costco, look and see if there’s a candy wholesaler in your city. There is one here in StL and we got the majority of our candy there. I’m trying to think…. I think we spent about $300 (not more that $350) and got 50 giant pixy stix, 12lbs of gummi bears, 10lbs of tootsie rolls, 6lbs of M&Ms, 175 york patties, 10lbs of Mars mix (milky way, twix, etc), 6lbs of sour patch kids, 6lbs of twizzlers, 125 blow pops, 6lbs of gummi worms, 3lbs of dubble bubble, 72 packs of pop rocks, 4lbs of rainbow hard candy, 120 sticks of rock candy, and 50 custom fortume cookies. Honestly, I think we got a pretty good deal. I believe we got the tootsie rolls and m&ms at sams club, the rest came from the wholesaler.
Haha. All that for a wedding of 65 people…. but it was GONE. We had some rock candy and some gummi bears left. DHs grandma left with like 3 takeout containers. lol

I was going to do childhood favorites but I think I am just going to do 2 favorites and then the rest will be whatever is on sale at Sams Club. I have a lot of jars to fill but my plan is to use the smaller jars for the most expensive candy, like chocolate, and use the larger jars for the cheaper hard candy.
I am not doing scoops. Everything I purchase will be pre-wrapped b/c I didn’t want to have to worry about kids using their hands. I don’t know if I am doing signs either. If I have some spare time, I may do a few, if not, nobody will miss it.
