I adore the gown you posted in your blog post. The top is so interesting and unique and it looks like it would really compliment your hair, coloring, and style. Lace gowns are always classy and the top makes it modern and different.

I’m sorry your friend was such a stick in the mud and doesn’t understand that you don’t want a boring strapless A-line. Go with your gut. I think it will be gorgeous!

Wow, I was expecting something…. well… matronly in your Bio. It doesn’t look matronly at all! It’s gorgeous and looks like it would look great on you. Go for your dream dress and let your friend wear what she wants on her own day. 🙂

Personally I love the dress you chose and I think it will look great on you.

What I don’t understand is why you asked that specific friends opinion in the first place. She personally doesn’t like anything about the dress so in her mind there is no way to make it better unless you scrap it completely so asking her opinion on it is pointless. Her idea of the perfect dress is different than yours. Unless I missed something I don’t see where she is telling you that you have to pick a dress she chooses. Just tell her you don’t like the look of traditional a-line dresses or strapless dresses and be done with it.

I think your dress is pretty and different. I also did an all lace gown and loved it.  I did blue satin underneath and lots of people don’t agree with anything other than white – but I couldn’t have been happier with my dress.  I don’t think you need to change anything.

I think it’s stunning!  I think it’s sexy and modern, but in a classy and timeless way.  There’s nothing matronly about it!

Honestly, I love the gown you have in your bio. While the neckline looks alittle claustrophobic to me, it’s freakin gorgeous. You should really just go with what you love. It’s hard to recommend something for you, especially since your style is not the norm, as stated. But here goes- I’m in absolute LOVE with how unique & romantic Wai-Ching’s dresses are, plus you can customize them to be made however you want- take a look. Good luck!

Yeah, sometimes we don’t get the answer we are looking for when we ask a question. That said, it was a bit rude for her to say all that. I’m of the “if you can’t say something nice, shut your trap” school.

So listen, the dress is beautiful, it’s unique, it’s you — don’t change a damn thing.

y r u asking for opinions if you don’t really want to hear them?  She didn’t want to answer, you pressed, don’t be upset about her reaction.  Jeez, not everyones gonna like your dress, I don’t either, but It’s great if you do, and that’s what matters, don’t blame someone for having opinons that differ!

well, i don’t get the “for me” thing in what you said, either…usually when people ask someone’s opinion, they give their own opinion (in my experience).  i mean, yes, we’re talking about you wearing it, but what she thinks looks good on you and what is your style might be two entirely different things.  that said, i think you gave her an inch and she took a mile…i mean, holy crap.  DOZENS of links?  really?  it’s time to just say thanks and quietly ignore anything else she says.

I love the dress and I think it will fit your body type perfectly.  I say WEAR THAT DRESS!

I’ve ruffled feathers left and right with family members – whether it’s my mismatched bridesmaids or my sapphire blue shoes.  It’s your wedding….wear what you love!
