So….I like my hair. And when this wedding is over I’m chopping my mop to donate it. Good riddance long hair!
After a day dirty (and curled with a wide barrel curling iron) it behaves and the frizz is minimal. My only problem is that it’s hard to get my hair to “stay together” It starts to stray and I don’t like the look of stray hairs stuck all over th back of my dress.
I like that naturally soft look and want to avoid those “hard curls” where it looks like a ton of product is in there. To avoid this I was thinking hair down for ceremony and up or semi-upfor the reception.
Ideas? Pics? I feel really lost on this one.
Here is the style of dress I’m looking at.
^^I feel like blondes can get away with down hair because a few stray blonde hairs don’t look messy – while dark stray hairs will look kind of messy with a white wedding dress behind ’em!

@mousepeach: I have no advice, just jealous of your hair!

Okay so I’m going to go against the grain. What about something that involved braids?
You can say no I wont be offended. I have super curly hair so when the time comes who the hell knows what I’ll do with my mess. lol

Girl your hair is gorgeous! I’d go for a half up-do with braids. Fly aways and a “piecy” look would look fantastic.

I was thinking a “busy” updo with braids would be wasted on me because I don’t have any highlights or lowlights. My hair is pretty much uniform in color so getting any definition between pieces of hair in an updo woudl be hard to see. But seriously, what do I know? I’m very unexperienced when it comes to doing my hair.

you have super long hair, i have super long hair to. if you can manage to wear it down, do and show it off, it’s super pretty! i was gonna wear mine down for my reception but it was so humid that i ended up doing a bun

Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down? Do you get hot easily?
I personally wear myhair up a lot! And I get hot easily, so I went with an up-do. I also have stick straight asian hair that would lose its curl/styling within the hour. So I slapped it up in an updo so it had no where to go hahahahaha! *ahem* anyway.
Your hair is so pretty so I really think no matter what you do with it it will look great! If you can handle hair on your neck (which I can’t) then perhaps the half up do would do well to help with facial fly aways etc.

@mousepeach: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! I think since it is so thick and long, a looser updo with curls would be perfect. If you like the look of braids (like some previous posters have suggested), I do think you could pull it off (even without highlights or lowlights). I’m planning to do a looser updo incorporating braids, and my hair is very uniform in color and very dark … I dye it black. I wear braids in my hair a lot on a normal basis, and I think you can definitely see them.

@Hippos: Ah yes! I should have specified that ideally I would like to wear my hair down.
I’m just concered of it looking messy and tired looking as the evening wears on. I don’t want to look a mess by the end of the night! I usually find that the brides that still look “fresh” and “perfect” by the end of the night either have TONS of product in their hair (which i dont want) or have their hair completely pinned up.
I don’t get hot easily and we’re planning for either a late Fall or Winter wedding.

I’m in the same boat. If it gets hot in your venue will it frizz?
