I’m a fairly new Bee. I lurk a lot but don’t post much. Background: my Boyfriend or Best Friend and I have been together for 2.5 years, and I’ve been waiting for about a year. I’m 27, he’s 34. This is kinda exciting, so I thought I’d share.
So I had a conversation with my Boyfriend or Best Friend a few days ago about being tired of waiting. He’s been pretty hardline about not wanting to talk about the proposal so it’s been tough for me even though I know it’s coming at some point. Last April he told me we would be engaged by that time next year, so I immediately put the date in my phone so I could hold him to it.
In this conversation, I asked him if he was still on track to keep his April promise. He responded, “Did I say that? I don’t remember.” NOT GOOD, RIGHT? That’s what I thought. But then he said, “Well, that’s irrelevant now.” I pried for a little more information. He said, “That date’s not important any more. Things are already in place.”
This means it going to be sooner, right? Maybe holidays? Though he mentioned a few years back that he thinks holiday proposals take away from the specialness of the proposal (split focus and all that). But he loves Christmas, so who knows. Exciting!
