this is probably a really strange thing to post …. but her goes, i’m currently off work with depression i have suffered with this for sometime and haven’t been work for over 3 months…
well my fi popped the question in august 2009, with the intention on getting married june 2011. things out of our control put this on hold, well about 6 weeks ago he said that i need a distraction and it need to be a big one well he then announce he had booked the venue that we both loved for december next year and that i better start planning.
i’ll be honest i felt overwhelmed with so many emotions, mainly joy mixed in with insecurity… were we mad to be planning a wedding while i am at a very low point in life. well it turns out he was right, people say wedding planning is stressful but when i look at the bigger picture of what has been the last few years of my life, this is the most fun easy going thing i’ve tried to do… it takes up so much ‘dead’ time and really keeps my mind occupied even the doctor has seen an improvement.
my fi is very loving and understanding but more than anything lately he is relieved at my progress and he says weddingbee and you bee’s have helped in this.
i spend a lot of time on here as he works nights so i’m on my own from late evening as little one is in bed then in the day he sleeps and little one is at school.
i love the community of it all, the fact i don’t feel judged, i love helping other bee’s out, especially when i get to hunt for something. i love reading people stories, seeing the photos and the happiness, i even enjoy the rants and vents
i said it was a strange thing to post but i had to share my feelings

So glad you posted! I’ve lived with depression and anxiety the last several years and having an understanding partner makes all the difference. Congratulations and cheers to appreciating the little (important) things… 🙂

Glad the Bee has helped you and I hope you feel better very soon! I struggled with depression many years back and it is certainly no fun at all. Hang in there!! I must say many girls on here have helped me through a very difficult year as well! Love WeddingBee! 🙂

This is a great post. And honestly, when I am feeling low, I think wedding planning (and it not being a fantasy, it being very real and upcoming) would help me out too. That’s just not the page my SO is on though. Glad to hear you’re getting on so well and it’s been lovely to have you here on the bee 🙂
