What about navy and orange with pops of pink, to soften your “football team” feeling.. (which I don’t see but if you do, add another color)

@peachbaby4008:  we’re in september and are using neutrals for overall decor, mint for dresses and some here and there, a few sprigs of pale peach and grey suits. I wouldnt worry about the season, who cares, your pictures are what I would think about. What do you want to look back on, your favorite colors that make you happy on the greyist of days or that you chose an appropriate scheme for the season? I vote favorite and slap those doubting debbies!

Also have you tried going to a fabric store or a paint dept and picking out a few swatches you like? I found this helpful and then you can take them into certain light, take some photos and see how you really feel about them.

I’d try to get past the purple disposition just because your SIL used it. Way too manys shades of purple that are too gorgeous to pass up! Our wedding is in February and our colors are going to be lavander, charcoal, and champagne. The plum, burgundy, and ivory sounds gorgeous- i’d go with that.

I think orange and navy will only look football teamish if you use a bright orange. Try a softer hue of orange instead. Very fall if you ask me πŸ™‚

I’d try and get over the fact that the colors aren’t “season” friendly, or that someone else used them. We’re doing purple and teal and my wedding is the day before yours. Choose what you love, what screams out to you and your fiance.

@peachbaby4008:  Just do navy and orange.  It sounds like you like it and with the right third accent color, it won’t look too football teamish.  Especially if you use a softer orange or peach instead of the color crayon orange used by sports teams.

Here are some examples: https://www.google.com/search?q=naVY+and+orange+wedding&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=ias3UZ2ADpTg8wSNp4HIBA&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=642

I am obsessing over the navy and softer orange in the bouquet.  I hear all the time my colors are football too, but they are my favorite and you should go with what YOU like!

how about lavender, navy and a third fall accent color, soft yellow, coral, look to nature for the 3rd color.

You could do navy dresses, purple flowers with the 3rd accent color.

Or accent color dresses, navy suits and shades of purple for flowers.

Ok I see since your from illinois how the Navy and Orange can be so Da Bears…. But if you blend it with some golds and even red orage / reds I think it would be beautiful for your fall wedding! Navy and Orange are our colors (being in minnesota we dont have a team to comapre it to!) and i find that we are really focusing more on the Navy & Grey with little pops of orange which is really working for us!

What do your invitations look like? You could always go with that color scheme…

P.S. I wanted blue and orange for my color scheme too, but when I ran it by my mom she asked, “Are you planning to get married at Citi Field?”

What about grey and orange and ivory? You mentioned liking the thought of grey dresses for your bridesmaids…would look nice
