Some of you may know that I’ve lost about 50+ lbs over the last year and it has been fabulous. Although I’m not where I want to be I still feel better than I have in years. Anyway the last couple of weeks have been crazy hectic so I haven’t worked out but I’ve been seriously skipping on meals as well. I’ve only gained a pound back though.
As I write this I’m sitting in my wedding gown and completely baffled. The hips/thighs area fits wonderfully. It glides over my curves just right. Not too tight but not too loose either. HOWEVER the chest area has gotten crazy tight when it use to fit perfectly. It’s like all the weight I lost in my hips/thighs has gone straight to my boobs and upper rib area but I already have D sized breast so I’m definitely not happy at all. I haven’t been doing any real upper body work outs at all so it can’t be added muscle. I’ve been monitoring how my dress fits every few weeks for the last several months and this is the first time this has happened.
With my dress I’m not as concerned because my wedding is still a year out BUT my BFF is getting married mid October and I’ve already had my dress altered(size 8..fit perfectly except the strap needed to be tightened) so now I don’t know if I should make an appointment to have the chest let out or if I should wait a bit to see if things change.

I find my boob-age size changes more than any other measurement depending on the time of month. Maybe that’s it?
Unless its so tight you’re struggling to do it up, I wouldn’t worry too much. It also depends a bit on the bridesmaid dress style to be worried about that. And mid October is still two months away if it’s just a little tighter than usual.

My breast size has really never fluctuated. I get very bloated around the mid section on my period but that’s about it as far as physical changes go. But I’d say this is a full dress size tighter. I can’t even zip either dress up all the way and most definitely can’t wear any sort of bra.
idk maybe that fact that I just got off work and I’m tired is just making me panic unnecessarily…lol but it’s really like all the weight in my hips and thighs went straight to my boobs.

I tried on the dresses again and they still fit the same(lol obviously)
I went ahead and made an appointment for alterations. I’d rather be safe than sorry.
I’m still baffled as to why my boobs are a size bigger though.

Did you start taking a new pill recently? I started a different BC pill and my boobs went up two cup sizes. 🙁

I don’t use any sort of hormonal contraception. They just don’t agree with me.
My period was about two weeks ago and I don’t really have any physical symptoms but cramping and bloating in my lower stomach.
lol it’s really like all the fat in my hips and thighs have decided to settle in my boobs. I mean I’ve noticed my bras felt a little more snug but I didn’t think much about it until I tried the dresses on.

My boobs seems to fluctuate daily between swimming in my DDD bra and wanting to spill out over the top. I find that if I eat a lot of salty foods, am stressed, the week BEFORE that TotM, or just not drinking enough water, they get bigger.
Alterations are probably a good idea. You can always wear a padded bra to fill out the dress if it ends up being too big, but if you can’t zip it, that’s a whole other can of worms!

What is the weather like in your area? similar to hormones, humidity and heat can also make you bloated. You mentioned having a hectic schedule and skipping workouts and meals– how’s your fluid intake? Any chance dehydration is adding to the issue?
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much, and definitely don’t do anything until you’ve tried the dress on in a week and it’s still fitting the same– as you’ve said, this is a new problem you didn’t have a few weeks ago; chances are it’s not a “real” change, it’s something superficial that will pass, you don’t want to have to do and undo alterations if you don’t have to– I had a similar thing with my dress, I had to have it let out about 2 months before my wedding vecause it just wasn’t fitting, but then at every fitting since then they had to take it back in, at the end it ended up being smaller than the original size.

The humidity could be a factor…I didn’t think of that. It’s crazy humid here from May to late September.
Food wise I’ve mostly been munching on fruits, veggies, and greek yogurt but no “real” meals. Just a small handful of stuff like carrot sticks and grapes every four or five hours and maybe a small cup of yogurt for breakfast if I get the chance. I still drink a lot though. Always have. I just got into a habit in high school (while playing sports) of drinking a big bottle/glass of water every hour.

My recommendation: push ups. I think it really helps keep my boobs in check, and has the added bonus of sculpting armS!

@SweetHoneyBee: I wouldnt rush into changing your dress yet as you have 1 full year dont you? You dont want to pay for alterations adn then have to pay again anyway.

I kinda went through something like that about a year ago. I lost aprox. 40 lbs, lost a band size and gained 2 cup sizes(36HH)! I wear about street size 16 and had to buy a size 22 wedding dress so my boobs would fit the dress. Thank god for a corset backing!
