A close friend of mine brought it to my attention today that someone is pretending to BE ME on an online dating site.
This friend of mine was looking at our area (he searched by zip code) and noticed that I (or someone who he thought was me) was on the site, He thought it was weird, cuz he knows that I am engaged. Turns out that someone took over 15 pictures of me from my facebook and used them for their own profile on a dating site. The profile said things like “i am so beautiful and sexy, i am always down to have a good time,” and had “phone sex” listed as a “favorite pasttime.”
I am so outraged at this, but don’t know what to do. I don’t see a way I can contact any admin people, and my navigation around the site is pretty limited because I am not a member.
I can’t believe this happened. I don’t have a facebook anymore, but when I did it was private. It’s super embarrassing.

Did/can you contact the dating site directly and have it taken down? That is SO not okay!

Which dating site is it? Here are some numbers for some common dating websites:
Match.com: (800) 926-2824
EHarmony: (424) 258-1199
I can’t think of any more, but if you put companies in google maps, it will usually give you a number. To get eharmony, I typed in EHarmony Headquarters. Even if it’s the wrong number, you should be able to talk to a human and get the right one.
That’s so, so creepy :(. I hope you can get ahold of someone to get it off of there!

Yeah, you need to call the site and report the fraud. That is NOT okay!

That’s what you get for being so hot. Just kidding love that sucks big time! 🙁

Oh my god! That’s awful! Do you think that would be considered a form of identity theft? If so, maybe you could take some legal action, to at least get the site to remove that profile.

Could it be someone who is just holding a grudge? Sounds like something girls did in middle school – so frustrating! Who would even spend all that time to sign up and upload photos? I hope you can contact the site soon and they take all that garbage down!

@missfireslayer: haha is it bad that that was the first thing I thought too? No one would steal my pics!

Someone signed up for a dating site using my e-mail today.
I logged in and changed everything to be super sketchy then changed the e-mail address associate with it.
Apparently I can’t deactivate the account for 24 hours.

you can call the companies and they can trace the IP addy of the person logging on. You can also tell them to block it as well in a way that they would never know until you caught them. Believe it or not, its is a federal offense.

Ugh, that is ridiculous! I am so sorry… I hope you find a way to get them to STOP!
