Accept the gift and buy the shoes!

That is way too much money to accept as a gift and spend on shoes! Politely decline!

Buy the shoes! Those are shoes that you can wear for YEARS. They are amazing and a gift. They are a gift. They are a gift. (I feel that this point is important, hence the repatition). If she had wrapped them in a box and given them to you would you decline? No! So buy the shoes.

They are beautiful, it will make you both feel super special and you can wear them for years to come.

Okay, the price really is crazy! But your stepmom wants to do this for you, and it’s probably especially important to her since you said she likes shoes. You guys should bond over how amazing these shoes are :). I’d definitely accept it!

To OP, your stepmom really wants you to have tnem so honor her and  get your dream shoes.

To @BlondeBee- I love your suggestion as those were MY wedding shoes. I too have a bad ankle issue and these were quite comfortable and looked beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜‰

$525 for a pair special shoes isn’t all that much. I spent around $1400 on some Louboutins which were on sale this summer. Now that was a moment of complete madness and I’m no shoe girl either. But I love them and still have enough in my savings to buy a house next summer. If you have the excess cash (which you do, theyre a gift) and you really want to have them (and I’m guessing you do judging by the length of the op) then go get ’em!

Buy the shoes!  I spent months searching for shoes and returned so many until I finally got a pair of Jimmy Choos.  Nothing else compared.

PS- check the reviews for that shoe,  I had to order up a size.  Your toes might be tight at first but as long as the length is okay, you can stretch out the toe box.

ETA: In regards to the narrow comments, I have very large, flat feet.  They might as well be flippers.  Aside from needing to bend the toe box to my toes, these JCs were super comfortable.

Yup!  If she’s sending you money for the shoes, buy the shoes.  Otherwise I think the money should be returned.  Its not a money gift to be used as you please, she us buying you your dream shoes.

I would go with no because chances are you are not going to wear them again. (WIth what? And how often? Once in a blue moon, right?)

You can always find comfortable shoes that have similar style and sequin them in champagne coloured sequins.

I rather you use the money elsewhere. I know, it’s a ‘once in a lifetime’ event, but those shoes are TOO expensive  for what value you will get out of them.

@Nona99:  Agreed. Impossible to spend too much on the right pair of shoes.

I think you shouldn’t feel bad about buying the shoes. It seems like your stepmom would be happy to see you happy. But, just incase you don’t, I did a quick search and found these really affordable Nine West shoes.
