@AnaA:  How sweet of your friends, they sound awesome!

My best friend was unavoidably out of the country for my wedding and engagement. She was on a small island in the Pacific that is fairly developed, but she did encounter people eating monkey brains. She knew I was going to be getting engaged while we was gone, so she bought an adorable engagement card before she left, kept it with her for several months (and a couple of moves), and sent it to me when she got my “We’re engaged!” email. I was so touched that she’d planned for it all that time in advance :).

@AnaA:  Your friend sounds lovely!

My best friend offered to make my wedding dress. I tried to talk her out of it because I was worried about burdening her – but she insisted!

It took her 20 hours just to sew on the lace… an hour for every metre.

In the week before the wedding she insisted I come over for more fittings… just to make sure I was 100% happy.

Not only did she make my wedding dress, she was my maid of honour, and not a calmer, kinder person could there be.

Saturday i felt so loved by my best friend that if it hadnt been weird i would have given her a big hug. We went to a dress fitting, where i was sneered at by another bride and as soon as we were out of earshot, my bestie had my back about the situation. Then we got back to my house, and she sat there for 4 hours with me, watching movies and talking while we cut apart all 86 pages of inserts for my invitations, by hand with scissors. Then she topped it all off by telling me that im the bride, and i can be however bossy i want to be because she is my best friend and she loves me for who i am, and that she would wear whatever i wanted her to. She is the best!
