I impulsively ordered my wedding dress. Well, not so impulsively- I went to 10 stores and ended up buying one of the first dresses I tried on. It is the Lazaro 3018. My mother told me I ordered the dress impulsively though because now I kinda hate it.
Here are the pics of the Lazaro:
After I ordered the dress, something didn’t feel right. I kept looking at a pic of me in the sample dress and I felt I didn’t look my best- but chalked that up to a bad sample dress and it not being in the right color (sample dress is the antique color, I ordered ivory). I went to a couple of more stores, there was stuff I liked at the other stores, but I was still ok with my original choice and just kept reasuring myself that in the right color and when it is is all poofed out it would look great.
Here is me in the sample (which now I cringe looking at it!)
I had seen the Anne Barge Carson dress online and called around to the stores in my area that carried Anne Barge to see if they had it. None of them did. Then last weekend I see there was an Anne Barge Trunk show at a store about 50 miles away. Using it as an excuse to look at Bridesmaid dresses with my friends, I went. I was able to try on the Carson dress and really fell in love with it. If I were to get this dress, I would raise up the natural waist so it is not a drop waist and add a thin blingy belt.
Here are picturs of the Anne Barge Carson (I would do it in the white color):
The Anne Barge dress, with the “pattern change” and belt is double the price of the Lazaro. I would have to sell the Lazaro in order to get the Anne Barge, but other than that the price is not a huge issue.
What should I do??? Which one do you like better?

I think you look gorgeous in your current dress – I can’t imagine cringing when you look at that picture! Without pictures of you in the Anne Barge, it’s hard to say which is better.
Has the Lazaro come in yet? I’d wait until you get it and try it on again (in the right color and size) before you make a decision. You may fall in love with it all over again.

I actually LOVE the Lazaro and am a little jealous because I can’t pull that dress off. The Anne Barge doesn’t really do it for me. The skirt seems a little too random/asymetrical and overall looks messy. And the ruching on the bodice looks funny to me because side is ruched and the other isn’t, which is giving the illusion that her boobs are different sizes.
But either way, if you cringe at the thought of the dress you’ve bought, you should probably change. However, I do think it looks beautiful on you.

Honestly I like the lazaro much better.
I am not a fan of the skirt on the Anne Barge and by raising the waist and adding the belt you will make the top look just like the lazaro.
Stick with the dress you have ordered. It is stunning and when it your dress and the right color you will be gorgeous.

#1 – I prefer your dress 100%
#2 – I am not sure the second dress would be as pretty with a natural waist and the alterations you are doing are trying to make dress #2 look like your dress!
I think you need to re-fall in love with your dress. Go and try it on again – maybe find a sample in ivory and fall in love all over again!

I feel like you’re changing the new dress so it looks like the old dress. I would stick with your original purchase. The only diffence between the new dress and the old dress is the waist which you’re changing and the lack of belt which you are adding. I guess the skirt is different, but I like the simpler one better. The skirt on the new dress just seems messy (to me)

I LOVE the Lazaro on you! I’m honestly not a huge fan of the second dress.

I love your first choice!

@Future MrsB: You’re spot on with the uneven boobs comment. I couldn’t figure out why it looked so weird to me.

@toshella: The Lazaro hasn’t come in yet. It should be here in June. The store I was at wouldn’t let me take a picture in the Anne Barge- sadly 🙁
Also, the size I ordered is the size of the sample I am wearing.

I loveee this Lazaro dress, and it looks great on you! I would stick with what you have because I don’t think the second dress is as pretty as the first, and I’m not sure the alterations you’re suggesting will make it better. I think you are a lot safer not paying so much more to change the second dress to something you haven’t actually seen.

I think the dress you bought is georgeous and it looks great on you! I actually had the “wow, thats really pretty thought” when I looked at it.
I think if you really really love the second one though, go for it. In my opinion it would need to be a really lavish wedding to fit in though.

Yours is elegant and classic. The skirt on the other one looks a little bit like a crumpled up tissue.

In My Humble Opinion I am NOT a fan of the Anne Barge dress, its so busy in the skirt it almost looks sloppy. I think the Lazaro is classic, its not going to look dated in 20 years but I think the Anne Barge will have you thinking “Wtf was I wearing?” when looking back on your wedding day pics. I went thru the same thing you’re going thru, I fell in love with a second dress after my first one was ordered and when I tried it on I realized I still loved my original dress. Maybe you should wait until yours comes in in the right size and color and see what you think then.

I love your original dress and don’t understand how you can hate it. Nothing about the new dress appeals to me personally. And think the Lazaro is beautiful on you!
