I think the dress looks lovely on you. I think it would even look good without the pleats, but they definitely do NOT make you have a tummy. You have a great shape for that dress. Rock it, girlfriend!!

Your friend knows nothing about style. You did the right thing, it doesn’t emphasize anything, it hides the part you’re self-conscious about. Plus, the high waist elongates your silhouette, which makes you look even taller. It’s perfect and it looks beautiful on you.

You look like a model in that dress.  There’s no tummy to be seen.

It does draw the eye to the tummy area, but yours is completely flat! Ignore her, I’m sure she just had a stupid moment. We all have those. The dress looks amazing on you. I love the back!

Like everyone else said, it does draw attention there, but your stomach looks perfectly flat. You look awesome! Your friend sucks. Tell her to buzz off.

the pleats draw my eyes to your tummy area, but i think the only “tummy” i see is from the way the dress is falling in that one particular picture. i can see what your friend is talking about, but i strongly feel that if you were to step forward even one step, the “shadows” would disappear.

i wouldn’t take the comment to heart, you look great in that dress!

I can kind of see what she means about “emphasizing” in that my eyes are drawn to the pleats around your stomach area.

But I don’t see any tummy!

You look awesome! (And 99% of people look pregnant in empire waist shirts. Fact of life!)

@HerRoyalLeak:  I think it looks fine, it’s a really pretty dress and you look great in it.

I think some people legitimately cannot separate frabric and body in their minds. I’ve worn skirts that puff out on the sides a lot, and had on or two friends say things like “that skirt makes your hips look really big!” and when inquiring how do, the response is “look how far out it goes!”

Yes, because no one will possibly be able to tell that a puffy is skirt is a puffy skirt, not my hips, even though it is glaringly obvious. o.O I think you have one of these types on your hands.

You look amazing in that dress!  Don’t let your friends who are probably jealous of your lovely wedding get to you- just enjoy your day, and wear the dress YOU feel comfortable in 😀
