I literally just put my invitations in the mail and my first alterations appointment is tonight!! It’s crazy how just those 2 silly things have made my wedding feel all the more real. But now I’m super excited! It’s like all these months of planning is finally paying off and there is a light at the end of the tunnel 😀
Any bees recently have a similar moment? How did it make y’all feel?

I got our first non-immediate family RSVP to our wedding this morning. It’s quite the shock that I’m about at the two months mark.
But at this point, I’m counting down to the honeymoon.

The invites are serious business. I sat there holding them tearing up when I was mailing them, then took out my phone to snap a picture lol.. people were looking at me like I had snapped ..
Wait until you get your first RSVP! How exciting for you 🙂

@IzzyBear: Haha, I posted this in our month forum last week! My invites went out this morning as well. In fact, they should be picked up in 20 minutes from the box. AHH!
I had such a weird feeling when it hit me and it hasn’t stopped. We have been planning this for 16 months and we’re 82 away now. I’m on schedule and everything is going great but this is starting to dawn on me. We’re throwing a massive party where like it or not, I’m going to be the center of attention. All this money I’ve been spending for over a year is actually going towards something. And in a little over 3 months, I am going to wear a gorgeous dress, walk down the aisle and hopefully not trip and promise my entire future to my amazing partner.
I’m not regretting anything or nervous or anything and yet this realization is just…huge. I’m kind of like a robot when it comes to emotions, so to have this realization hit so hard is jarring.
(We have been together for 8 1/2 years and living like a married couple for 6+, so the committment aspect isn’t remotely concerning!)

- Wedding: August 2013 - Wynn Las Vegas
When I got the seating cards done…I had a moment. It was so great. That was the last big thing I had to do.

Oh man, your wedding is the day after mine and I haven’t sent mine out yet. They’re all finished, just getting addressed. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

@IzzyBear: I am not even close to being ready (since it’s over a year away) but you post made me smile and given me hope that I’ll have this type of moment too.
Right now I’m overwhelmed and wish I could have someone else plan my wedding or elope…. I can’t wait to be close enough to have this moment!

@IzzyBear: So exciting! Congratulations 🙂 I’m in the very early stage of planning, but we have been together for almost 6 years. Every little milestone has made things more and more real for me. First when he asked my mom for her blessing, then buying the ring together this past weekend. I can’t imagine how I will feel closer to the wedding!

@ohmybears48: yay for RSVPs! I’m excited about our honeymoon too! Where are y’all going?
@PrincessPerry: your comment literally made me LOL
@sanjessica: yeah ours was 16 months and that was a little too long. But we really wanted October so it was either 4 months (not enough time!) or 16 months (a little too much time)…I’d rather have a little too much time than not enough
@MrsFutureG: I feel the same way! I have baraely shown any emotion throughout this process, well aside from stress caused by vendors, so to get this feeling is a little surreal.
@whoa_its_ash: I can’t wait to do the seating chart using my actual guests as opposed to the preliminary one with everyone that’s invited lol
@Minnow: don’t stress. I have to turn in my final headcount to our venue 30 days before our wedding date so I needed to be able to get back the RSVPs and have a week or two to call the slackers lol.
@BlueBelle0927: aww, I’m glad I could put a smile on your face 🙂 It really is an awesome feeling when it gets closer to the date. You start to feel like all the planning, check writing, stress, etc were all worth it. And a bonus is that you’re that much closer to not ever having to constantly have people ask you about the wedding
@lovelee1: congratulations!! What kind of ring are y’all looking at?

Yup, same place, invites out, first fitting done…..and today I got an email from one of my Bridesmaids telling me that my suprise hen is organised, that I will be picked up at 10.30am on the day and deposited home at midnight, and that I must wear elegant smart casual and comfy shoes!!! Yay, its getting close 🙂

@IzzyBear: We are date twins! Yay!
And I am way behind you guys, but my reception is in November due to family coming in from Bermuda so I have a little more time. I plan on sending out invites in the next two weeks.

My first ‘A-HA!’ moment was when we registered. We had called off our wedding 5 months after he proposed the first time, and had never made it that far, so it when we got engaged again, and started putting things in motion, it hit me. Another big one was booking the venue(s)… as we were getting in the car after our appointment, I even joked with Darling Husband (then FI) saying, “I feel like I’m waiting to watch you burst into flames or something… this must be going against every fibre of your being!” LOL! Getting down the aisle was 11 1/2 years in the making, and I always like to poke fun at him for making me wait so damn long.
