If they start at 1.5k, how much less were you expecting?

I think a lot of the costs depend on what the package brings. If you see one that you like I would reach out to them to see if there are items that you can remove from the package. This is what we ended up doing for our intimate ceremony (24 people total) in Gatlinburg TN in a few weeks. After working with the vendor we made a few changes to the package and got the price down.

We’ve just booked in our elopement package – it is $3850AUD, and that is with everything included (three nights accomodation, marriage celebrant, legal paperwork, 1.5hrs photography, witnesses, flowers for me, dinner, wine tasting and a few other bits and pieces). This seemed like a great deal, particularly for not having to make decisions. We now have a reputable and local celebrant, a local and reputable photographer, a bouquet of my choice and lush accomodation. We’re pretty stoked.

britnee814 :  Because anything wedding related jack-up prices. I have looked at several all inclusive venues. The wedding package per person is easily 2.5 times more expensive compared to a generic celebration package (birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc)  per person. They basically offer the same things- a 3 course menu, wooden dance floor, chair, tables, linen, china, etc. Some will argue that weddings have much more demand for detail for vendors compared to other parties that’s why it’s more expensive. I have no idea if that is justifiable or not.
