@NauticalDisaster:  We held up my sisters ballgown for her while she peed. lol. It’s a challenge but it can be done!!! But I have crohn’s disease and I’m afraid I’m going to have to.. well, you know.. and there’s no way I’m letting my girls hold up my dress for that!! I do plan to change into a smaller dress at the reception though so hopefully that will solve that problem!!

Sit on the toilet backwards!

That way you don’t have to worry about the train. I took off my panties then walked in the stall holding the front of my dress straddling the toilet, while my girls were behind me holding my train (so it didn’t drag on the bathroom floor).

Definitely the easiest way!

@NauticalDisaster:  I had a fit and flare so I had to bring someone with me to pull my dress up and then pull it back down!

I dont know why, maybe it was the excitement of the day, but I peed before I got into the dress at around noon/1PM and didnt have to pee again till we got to the hotel room at almost 2AM.

@yorkiemad00:  Ditto to your link.

Peeing While Wearing the Dress

Because this seems to be a topic that has several people hitting the panic button, here is how to pee while wearing your wedding dress:

On arrival at your venue

  • Open the door of the ladies’ room and look in. If the floor is not clean, call the venue staff and ask to have it cleaned.

  • If the floor is clean, walk into the ladies’ room and open the door of the handicapped stall. If the floor of the handicapped stall is not clean, call the venue staff and ask to have it cleaned.

This ensures that you will not later get the train/back of the dress dirty just by having it touch the floor.

When you need to go

  • Walk into the handicapped stall. Remove (don’t just pull down) your underpants.

  • Facing the toilet, pull up the front of your dress to your waist.

  • Walk straight forward, so you are straddling the toilet, and sit down that way. The train/back of your dress will now be away from the toilet, so you won’t get them wet or dirty.

  • Lean forward before peeing. That way, even if you drop the front of the dress onto the seat, you will not pee in its direction.

Bwahaha. I did the straddle the toilet backwards thing. I also made my best friend help me hold up the dress–probably not necessary in retrospect, but I figured better safe than sorry. She was an amazingly good sport about it–actually wanted to high-five me right afterwards, and I had to be like “Er…I’ll just wash my hands first, shall I?”

@FMM:  +1.  MOH had looked this up ahead of time and figured out how to do it.  She came to the bathroom with me and grabbed all of the back of my dress, I grabbed toilet paper, pulled my underwear off one leg and then sat on the toilet backwards.  It worked extremely well.

@FMM:  i’ve heard of this way too.

@NauticalDisaster:  i had a fit and flare but it wasn’t tight on me.  i actually just pulled up my dress and held onto all of the layers with one hand (arm) while the other hand was free to wipe.  easier than i thought.  i actually only had to go 2x the entire day.

I had a fit and flare and had to go to the bathroom a zillion times while wearing it.  I got pretty good at gathering up all of the layers of skirt, holding them up around my waist, and peeing normally…. then pulling everthing back down into place.  By the end of the night I was a pro!

To @TorontoBride2be:  Lol, you and me both.

I’ve been married twice, and both Weddings the same thing.  Didn’t have to go while in my dress.

First Wedding from aprox 2 PM to 2 AM and this time round from 4 PM to Midnight.

And it wasn’t like I wasn’t drinking… definitely did my share of “endulging” both times.
