Hi Bees, I’ve gotten a quote that I think is reasonable from a photographer whose style I really like and is very high-quality. From my research, his pricing seems to be on the lower end to typical pricing for what we’re getting. But my fiance and my mom think it’s too expensive. Can I have your opinions on this package??
2 photographers, all day (we will be using them from sun up to sun down pretty much)
High resolution images on disc with full rights
12×12 flushmount album with 40-50 pages
Private online gallery for proofing, ordering and sharing photos
FYI: We didn’t need any bridal or engagement sessions because my photographer cousin will do them but I didn’t want him to work at the wedding.

I would say it depends on the quality of the photos…but assuming that he’s talented and you love his work, I would say that sounds very reasonable (n.b. I live in NYC, so my idea of reasonable might be different from someone else in a different part of the country).

I think that is a great price for what you are getting, especially since you are getting 2 shooters and have them from sunup to sundown.

I think that sounds about right. It can seem like a lot but that is a lot of hard work done for that $3400. If you like their style then I would say go for it!

That sounds reasonable to me for an established photographer given everything the package includes.

it doesn’t sound like a rip-off if you’re getting 2 photogs all day, but it depends where you are. it also sounds like you won’t get any prints, just the digitals.
could you get a cheaper price by asking for just one shooter?

that sounds about right to me.

I’m in Dallas, TX. We’ll be having a big wedding (~350 guests) so I think a 2nd photographer is needed, and it’s a Vietnamese-American wedding so we’ll have a morning tea ceremony, church ceremony, and restaurant reception, which is why we need the photographer all day. Another plus about this photographer is that he’s Vietnamese so he understands our customs, but he’s not the older generation, he’s younger, so his style is modern and photojournalistic, which I like. Thanks for the comments and reassurance! Very quick response, I love it 🙂 Hopefully I can convince my mom and fiance!

For the Bay Area, that would be a great price for what you’re getting if the pictures are high quality.

That’s about how much we’re paying for our photographers for a comparable package, and I was more than happy to pay it to work with someone we both really liked.

I think that’s cheap for a high end photographer AND second shooter AND flush mount album. A steal, in fact.

thats cheaper than what we’re paying in NYC. but if you and your Fiance need to have a talk about the budget I think it’s worth doing your research but also prioritizing. also see if the studio can break down the price of the album and the service so you pay for the album after the wedding. my Fiance and I did that (we’re having a very similar wedding to yours) and it helped us a lot.

Yep. Thats sounds about right.
