@Mr. Coffee: It’s NEVER too late to buy and carve a pumpkin! You could even carve pumpkins after Halloween and make “thanksgiving pumpkins”.

I haven’t carved pumpkins in years… probably won’t carve one again until I move somewhere with a garbage disposal (boo NYC… no garbage disposals) because I don’t like the smell of pumpkin innards.

It is definitely not too late!  We actually wait until the day of Halloween (or whenever the city is doing trick or treat) to carve ours.  Go for it!

This is the only photo I have, from a couple years ago.

Fiance and I are going to buy a pumpkin tonight and we’ll carve it tomorrow. Talk about last minute!! We are such slackers….

It’s not the 31st just yet, so I say YES, buy a pumpkin!!

heck no its not too late – we’re not carving ours until Saturday!

p.s. I’ll give you bonus points if you actually reach inside the pumpkin to take out the seeds and “guts” yourself. My husband refuses to do this – he says the texture on his hands makes him gag LOL

@Ms.Teddy: Oh thanks!  That’s funny because I actually like my husband’s jack o lantern better!  We should definitely have a pumpkin carving photo post after Halloween!

@Mr. Coffee: It’s definitely not too late! We bought our pumpkins, but we aren’t carving them until tomorrow. They usually only last about a week or two before getting soft and moldy when they’re carved.

I actually started a post about this yesterday to get some ideas of what to carve. Here are our pumpkins from a few years ago!
