This is my gown, a lovely ivory and champange number that reminds me of belle’s dress **sigh**
and this is a sash my Future Mother-In-Law found at david’s that goes SO GOOD with my dress. I’m 99.99% sure I’m getting it, but angry older sister says it looks like I’m being cut in half. She’s pissed at me right now-she might just be talking out of anger. I’m pretty sure that it, but just in case I’m coming to you bees!!

Have you bought the gown? Could you go and try it again and ‘make up’ a belt? So ask them if you can bring a bit of material in to make a look-alike sash? And then see what it looks like? Ive bought pre-emptive sashes for my bridesmaids and am a bit worried that it may ‘cut them’ but I am not sure. The sashes were pretty sheap so if they don’t work out I will make somethign with the material.
It sounds a silly question but what kind of sash? Sorry the pic isn’t showing up. I think a sash would look pretty! I am a sash-y type of girl and have been thinking about one for my gown too. Because of the detailling on the back of the dress you could mebbies have it ties at the side instead of at the back? I don’t know. Have you got pics of yourself in the dress with the sash? 🙂

Hmm. Well, I think a sash would be weird in particular on this dress because of the corset back. I can’t see a sash covering that up or working with it right.
However, the front does look like it could use something. Have you considered an applique of some sort? Maybe some crystals or something? Maybe you could have a pretty borello of some sort?
I personally do think that almost all sashes cut girls in half and add bulk around the waist, making them look thicker than they really are. But they still seem very popular.

I think you could do a sash, just have a seamstress sew the ends of the sash to the sides of the corset, so that the lacing isn’t covered. I know you have a killer veil ordered, so I’m not sure how detailed I would go with the sash. I looked at some of the DB sashes, but not sure which one you’re looking at. The photo isn’t showing.

I can’t see your sash either, but I’m not a big fan of sashes with corset backs.
