I am stuck!
I really want to wear a veil for our ceremony. My Maid/Matron of Honor and my mom keep trying to talk me out of it, so I can’t really ask for their advice.
Here is my dress…
And this is how I’d like to wear my hair:
Also, I am 5’8″ if it makes a difference.
Veil #1 (sans headpiece) – I really love the look of the longer veils. However, our wedding is outside, and I don’t know if it would look good with my dress. But I luuuuurv it.
I also really like this veil. Totally different than the other one. I am not crazy about rhinestones etc, but I like the pearls.

I prefer veil # 1 with your dress which is beautiful!

@weddingbound: Thank you so much!

Personally I love long veils with outside weddings… the wind catches it and makes it look oh so pretty!!
If you want to wear a veil…. WEAR A VEIL!!!

I’d go for a long length Raw cut veil so that it doesn’t detract from the gorgeous detailing of your dress!

LONG VEILS FOR THE WIN! 🙂 🙂

@curlywurly88: I think that is what I’m going with!!

The long veil, for sure. I actually love the ‘messiness’ of long veils in the wind, so dramatic and romantic!
I think a shorter veil would work with your dress too, but the one you posted seems a little…limp, for want of a better word? Not so fond of the detail either.
Just out of curiosity, are you going for a blusher too?

@peonyinparis: No, no blusher. I will be 31 by the time I get married, so I think maybe if I were in my early 20’s a blusher might be more appropriate. I think I would feel funny now.
I guess as for the detail, I’m not CRAZY about it either. I just don’t want any rhinestones or shimmer because it just isn’t me. And it is hard to find a veil with detailing that doesn’t have either of those.

If you want to wear a veil you totally should! This should be all about you and what you love. I personally love the look of the first long veil!

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
definitely the first one! Don’t let them talk you out of it- when else will you get to wear a veil? Why are they against it?
@MeiFrancis: I think they like the idea of a flower or something simple like that, better. But like you said, when will I ever get to wear one again?
