I know that a lot of HR and hiring managers LOVE to burn an applicant up on little details like these, personally, I look at what the resume SAYS, not the format it’s in.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve seen hundreds of resumes and understand that there could be formatting issues due to conversions. I always make a point to try to correct errors before I hit send only because I know these things happen and I feel the need to make sure it’s right.

I wouldn’t worry, there’s nothing you can do now. Some people are jerks & would dismiss the app for that but I’d like to think MOST people would understand that it’s a pain to convert from a pdf…I’ve had to retype my whole resume because I couldn’t get it to look right while converting it. Good luck!

@Jamergurl921:  I thought I blew it when I sent out my resume to a high school. I accidentally left the other high school I had also applied to in the cover letter. Turns out, they didn’t even bother to read it. I got an interview and a job offer. I hope things work out better for you than it did for me – the administration turned out to be awful.

I read resumes all day long and I know that computer programs can do strange things to the format. I wouldn’t worry about it.

don’t sweat. if you get the interview come in with your own copies of your correct resume ready for distribution. conversion errors are pretty common. at least now you know so you can fix it for the next time around!

Don’t worry at all. I would never hold this against someone, because I know that formatting often changes when you upload a document. I do judge people for little mistakes when they just get to send me their resume straight up, as a word doc or pdf, though. There’s  a big difference.
