Do it, even if you stay in your ball gown. You won't be thinking about it all the time. : (7 votes)

Don't, it is a waste of money you could use for something else. : (17 votes)

@Willow1991:  I didn’t have a 2nd wedding dress (I had a second dress, but it was a chinese dress), but you have been dreaming about that Dakota for so long that I KNOW you won’t regret it!  You look stunning in that ballgown, but you have my vote for getting your second dream dress!

I’m doing two… I was a bm in one wedding and a guest at another. Both of those brides had big beautiful ballgowns. BOTH said that they would have liked a reception dress. (Now, it could have just been the pickups. Their pickups kept “popping off/out” as the night wore on.)

I’m doing a reception dress; I have no desire to stay in a long dress for 5+ hours.

If you’re worried about the cost of buying another wedding dress as a reception dress, why don’t you see if you can find a cheaper alternative?

@Willow1991:  Well if you can afford it, I say go for it. It’s your wedding! =)
